I got my state exam results, people. 2.28, all in all. Which is basically okay, but annoys me anyway because I expected better. Done is done. Just thought I'd share the results, since I shared the whining and bitching, too. These days I mostly sleep, read, write Avengers fic and listen to Marina and the Diamonds. I also crochet a lot, which is why pic dump.
I keep taking pictures of my amis before giving them away and then forget to post them.
So here goes.
For his birthday, my dad got a magical box that automatically refills itself with baked goodies when you put it into the kitchen overnight. I made this piece of cake so the box wouldn't be entirely empty when he got it. Ignore the clutter in the background.
The surface it's standing on is the box, BTW.
And no, I didn't name him. A seven-year-old did. I made him during a long weekend trip to a family thing. The seven-year-old helped me 'make' this guy. She stuffed the head for me since she has smaller fingers. She also helped decide how big to make the body and when it got down to naming him, so I decided she got to keep him. He was a total hit at the wedding reception. The older kids used him to play Bait the Toddler with.
And his new owner lets him sleep on the front stoop a lot, because that's what cats do.
Got the pattern off Pinterest. It's easy, because you make all petals in a single string. I used to make each layer separately and then sew them together.
Sew a hairclip on the underside and voila. Any female that spends enough time in my vicinity gets one of those these days.
(Marina and the Diamond's has a kickass version of Starstrukk.)
He's for aforementioned toddler. Her mom 'ordered' him off of me during the wedding, because the cat was such a hit. I decided to make a kraken instead of another cat because a) I've never made the same animal twice and b) he has more ends to chew on, which is important when you're 18 months old. I don't think they actually expect me to send them anything, but I'll definitely get Inky on the way sometime next week. Maybe I'll throw in a few flowers for the other girls...
I don't know why the colours came out so pale, he's actually really bright. Huh.
And look at how blue the sky was Regensburg was last week. I love that city. It's so damn pretty.
That's about a third of the mess.
Pic dump compeleted. Next: Book dump. Oh, dear.
Also: I think I need a proper amigurumi tag.
ETA: Dude, I have an ami tag...
If you want any of those patterns, just ask. I may suck at explaining, but I'll try. :)
