IT WAS ABOUT TIME :>destroytheotherOctober 23 2010, 20:58:49 UTC
If there is anything Josef is fondly amused of without fail every time, it's Elizabeth's easily distracted personality. He has no doubt if a butterfly fluttered on by them, she'd look on after it and forget entirely what the conversation consisted of. "...You know, that's a really good idea, Sparky," he says, an impressed glance sent her way. "You'd have to help me judge these costumes, you realize."
The date of the event does not clash with the Tower's part, or so the narration is making sure of. Besides, after looking around for a bit they can just go back to Josef's office and hang out. Ahem.
Josef is never going to deny Elizabeth the opportunity of a kiss, whether it's in public or not. If she's comfortable enough in doing so, he's going to be kissing right back like the hobag he is.
"You're very welcome. The things I do for you. It isn't for just anybody I'd shame myself and look for those pictures. I warn you, my haircut back in the day was...slightly different."
His hair was curly and unruly and it was very difficult to contain, all right?
Josef helps her with half of the costume essentials, picking up the basket to carry it for her once everything's been deposited inside. "You would have managed just fine," Josef says in reassurance. "But it's been my pleasure to come with you. Who else is going to be dressed up as a pirate, anyway?"
The last question is asked while he sorts through the jewelry and the eye patch, looking over everything to ensure nothing is missing. He doubts Elizabeth wants to take realism up a notch and use a stick for a leg.
Josef twirls his index finger, motioning for her to turn around so he can fully appreciate the whole ensemble. "Perfect."
THERE ARE SO MANY BEAUTIMOUS ONESpplrunincirclesOctober 23 2010, 21:41:54 UTC
If a butterfly fluttered by, she would be completely distracted by it. The same could be said about anything that is shiny or colorful or loud. She can focus but it takes extra effort for her to do so. The impressed look he sends her makes her smile, proudly. She salutes him. "I have them sometimes," she says. "I would totally want to help judge. I'd be a great judge!"
Elizabeth would think it's really fun anyway. Especially if after the judging, they went up to Josef's office to 'hang out'. Everyone knows what happened the first time that she went into his office. By everyone, the narration means the two narrations and Josef and Elizabeth.
Plus, she wants to learn how to play pool, and he has a pool table up there. There have probably been lessons in the past.
"The thiiings you do for me," Elizabeth agrees, and her smile quirks to the side in amusement and curiosity. "Different how? My hair has kinda always been the same."
And she has only known Josef's hair to look one way and one way only. It would be interesting to see him with a different kind of look... and in a priest costume no less! Dang, she really wants those pictures to exist.
"Phoebe! and... I don't know who else yet," Elizabeth says, wrinkling her nose in thought. "Maybe we should put out a call on the journals for fellow pirates to be a part of our crew. We could make like a big cardboard boat that we could all walk in with it around us? That would be an awesome entrance!"
It really would be incredibly adorable. They could probably convince their fellow crew to sing along in a rousing chorus of "A Pirate's Life for Me".
Elizabeth twirls when he motions for her to do so and then grins at him after she's finished twirling. "Awesome! I can't wait," she says, bouncing over to his side. "Okay, we have everything so we just have to pay, and you get me and whatever you want for the rest of the day."
AND THEN YOU USED ONE OF MY FAVORITES .-.destroytheotherOctober 24 2010, 00:12:15 UTC
"I have no doubt you would be, Sparky," Josef says with a grin. He likes to see her excitement when it comes to things he otherwise would consider so mundane. She still has the ability to be fascinated by the world around her, to see things and be thrilled by them. Something about that has always drawn him to her and this is no different.
The narration can definitely see Josef giving Elizabeth pool lessons. They'd likely be cut short (blame the pie) but he would keep trying. He does spend a lot of his time at the club, making sure everything is running the way it's supposed to, so it would make sense that she'd end up spending time there, too. His office would have enough things to make it comfortable for her to be there, too, whenever she finds herself there.
Josef coughs into his hand and makes a wavy motion above his head. "It was...curlier. A bit unruly. Nothing too obvious but...yeah."
He hated his hair when he was younger. He would try everything to tame it and nothing would work. Needless to say, he tried to keep it as short as possible, but too short looked just as bad on him. Teenage years were hard.
He wants it to be noted he was not any less attractive. The hobag has always existed and will always exist, through unruly hair and whatever else happens. It's that powerful.
"Well, you do need fellow pillagers," Josef says with a straight face, picking up one of the plastic hooks and twirling it in his hand. It's not his favored holiday, but he is having a lot more fun than he thought he would and some of the costumes are amusing him. Plus, he thinks Elizabeth will look really good in her pirate costume. It all bodes well and in his favor. He cannot complain.
That would be the best entrance ever and Phoebe and Elizabeth are worthy of having a whole pirate crew. Thanks, Phoebe, for butting into the narration to claim how awesome you and your BFF are.
"It's not that far away," he says teasingly, well aware of her impatient nature. He follows her to the line and gets his wallet out. He's going to pay for her things because she's his girlfriend and it's what he always wants to do for her. "I'm going to have to come up with a few ideas. But don't worry, I'll think of something."
I wanted to repay the favor :x /stops the beatpplrunincirclesOctober 24 2010, 03:13:21 UTC
Elizabeth grins right back at him. She loves that he has such faith in her, not only when it comes to her being a good judge but so many other aspects of her life as well. It's awesome, and it helps her to feel more confident. He is The Man after all. He would know what's going on.
Daw, Josef teaching Elizabeth pool lessons is incredibly adorable even though it probably would be cut short with pie and she would be a slow learner. It helps that the balls have colors and make neat sounds when they hit each other. Much easier for her to learn than chess for instance. She probably spends a lot of time in his office then, just to be around if he needs anything and cause it's so comfy for her.
The smile continues widening when he coughs into his hand and make the motion. "Yep! I really hope I can see pictures one day."
Elizabeth is positive that he was just as attractive with the curlier, more unruly hair. There is no doubt in her mind that he has been attractive ever for most of his life except when he was a kid/baby. Cause kids/babies aren't attractive, they are cute.
"Yes, we need like a whole crew to go in with us. Even if it's like two or three more people, I think," Elizabeth says with a firm, firm nod. "I think I'll write up the note later so people have time to find costumes and stuff."
She would love for him to dress up, but she's actually cool with her being the dressed up one and him having candy. No one has to do all the things associated with a holiday to enjoy it in their own way, and even if he's only enjoying it cause of her that's fine and that's good.
Hi Phoebe! The narration loves you and agrees on the awesomeness of you both! And adorableness.
"It isn't at all, huh? I can't believe October is almost over. Yeesh," she says, pressing her hand against her head in a kind of facepalm and then she laughs, glancing at that devious smirk and knowing what it means. "I am never worried about that, Josef. You come up with awesome ideas all the time."
It is only when they get up to the counter that she leans against it, and her smile becomes more sincere. She reaches her fingers into his pocket since she wants to hold his hands, but the hands are occupied. "Thank you for paying for all of this stuff... and everything else."
If it wasn't for him, she would not have anything really since she has no job and no money to her name.
The narration agrees they'll have better luck playing pool than they would with Josef trying to teach Elizabeth chess again. Chess is far more intricate and requires more focus than he knows she has, and pool is a skill that one can learn without so much strategy. It's also a game that Josef doesn't get too serious about, unlike chess, so they'd have more fun either way.
Plus, it ends in pie. Any hobag can attest to how important that is.
Josef shakes his head in amusement, biting back the comment a whole crew would consist of more than two or three people. It seems like she knows what she wants to do and with how many people, so he just nods his head. "Journals are your best bet at contacting everyone."
Which makes no sense to him if you're a native and can buy a damn phone, not like they're that expensive these days. He barely uses his journal, mostly looks through it to get a sense of what's happening within the supernatural community.
Then again, Josef conversations are mostly business and teleconferences, so there is that.
Josef would never dress up, unfortunately and wouldn't want candy, either. Oh, the grump. The narration is still pondering if she should force him into one, but his reaction wouldn't be amusing. It just isn't his holiday, and while he consents to celebrating holidays she loves and the like, he does not dress up and will definitely only find it worthwhile if she's enjoying herself.
"Yeah, it's crazy to think about," he murmurs thoughtfully. The year did go by quicker than the rest, he feels. It wasn't all that long ago they were celebrating New Years Eve. Time does not stop for anyone or anything, does it?
He gives her another smile, this time lacking in deviousness and making up for it with genuineness. "You're welcome. I don't mind at all, and if you wanted a costume then you should have a costume."
She does have a job, one that's very important to her, it just doesn't give you a salary. But it fulfills her, and that's what matters.
Any hobag can attest to how easily the pie makes anything else perfectly fun and a good time. It is true. Robin could be (why is he butting in again?) convinced to do nearly anything if the promise of pie follows the event, whatever it may be.
"Yep, that's what I thought, and we could even make more friends that way," Elizabeth says, the wheels in her head turning in excitement at all the possibility that is laid before them. "Like we meet them the first time when we're all dressed up as pirates! Pretty nifty!"
Pretty nifty indeed, Elizabeth.
She likes the journals, but she likes to meet new people through them. She likes talking to many who don't have phones through it, and she likes updating it as if it is her own journal where people can talk back to her through. She met Phoebe through the journals! And Phoebe put on that big entry giving advice through the journals.
However, she gets why Josef would prefer using a phone to using the journals. They are very different people after all, but somehow they work together. It has been said time and time again, but it could always be repeated.
Time never slows for anyone, and it seems like the more she's enjoying what's going on, the faster time goes by. It's really unfair. There should be a fast forward button for things that she doesn't like so much, and a slow way down button for moments like this with him, but there isn't so there's no use complaining.
Elizabeth grabs the back once it has been paid for, smiling back up at him, noting the genuineness of it this time. "I did want a costume. Do want one, and I have one now. I can model it for you first if you want."
Just try not to ruin the costume before the big night, kids.
She does have that job. It seems less like a job, more like a reason for being, a purpose. She is more than that but only that at the same time. It's complicated but she isn't thinking about that now.
Elizabeth reaches for his hand, locks their fingers together, and starts out the door of the house. She is thinking about time still and how limited it is even if there is no time limit on it. "I'm really glad we get to spend the whole day together," she says with a small smile, biting down on her lip and leaning up on her tip toes to kiss him.
Sometimes even though tomorrow isn't guaranteed, today is enough.
