this is none of my business, but what the heck.

I've had a friend or two move overseas and did the whole moving deal thing as well. It seems to me that both times they just should have sold everything they had here and use what they would have put in the moving deal to go out and buy even more new stuff. Don't forget about all the extras the movers will usually put on you, not to mention the huge tips.

That is, unless, you are actually decked out in rosewood antique furniture, but unless something changed since my last visit, it was not the case. What was your kitchen table composed of again? :) I think it actually might be more profitable for you to do the same.

Options:
1- Store everything you have here just in case you decide to come back or that you get kicked out of the country (hey, it happened to Zoulou! Yes, that guy from Clubinfo) and buy everything there once you arrive.
2- Sell everything you have for cheap and keep that 2 grand for new furniture. It can be done if you're just looking for a Bachelor pad. For the rest, just overpack like a mofo for the stuff you can fit in a bag.
3- Move everything you have over there, be ready for the extra costs. Extras will apply, like weight ratios and insurances and so on, but on the other hand, you will save on therapy because you won't have to deal with loosing everything you own and starting from scratch again.

I don't know if they are still around but back when I summered in Amien, Mamout was the equivalent of Wal Mart. You can always get your stuff cheap there. Also... Garlic french bread dogs. Stay away. And I'm sure you know this my now too, but no milk either.

when I had the guy on the phone he said 2040CAD door-too door all included ( there is no taxes on overseas shipping ).
Now the conversation was recorded ( transfered the call to my work sation where everything is recorded ) and in Quebec a verbal agreement is contractually binding.

So despise other choices available if we go with them it is gonna be 2040 and not one cent more.

In conclusion don't screw with the insurance girl :)
