Actually, he wrote me a really nice email, and even said my drawings were excellent. And I was right - the name Edward Monkton is a reference to Munch, and I'm apparently the first one to ask him that.
One thing he asked me to mention (well, sorta):May I make a further point... when people discover that EM is a pseudonym they get very disappointed. If you are interested enough to share the information above, please bear in mind that my work is no less genuine for being created by someone with a different name. The name, as you now now, is as much a part of the art as... well... the art!
What a thoroughly nice chap. I may have to buy one of his mugs.
