I very much agree with your comments, though have yet to try Nepalese food as much as I'd like.
We wanted in an ideal world to have Comedy and Cake a bit later in the day - tea time. Which would have led to less exhausting days. However, there wasn't an appropriate slot offered. We always expected Matrix to be the show that sold, and Comedy and Cake needed more marketing work- but I think both shows were about 50% beyond expectations. Matrix was very much the show we knew how to do, and to market, Comedy and Cake perhaps more of an experiment we wanted to try.

I think the one thing which we could have done better with Comedy and Cake was to prominently highlight Oxbridge connections- it gives people more of an idea about the show straightaway. However, "Student" drama does put many people off, and it's difficult to know.

Show length is always a problem, especially for panto! You really don't know what the shows going to be like until you get the audience in- that extra cast member. But the speed of getting the audience in wasn't great, and that's the theatre's responsibility!
