Today I got the first split in the skin of my hands of the year. That's my hands buggered until April, then - no matter how careful I am, I always develop another split somewhere just as the last one's healing. Usually I have a selection of five or six scabs/scars in various states of healing throughout the winter.
I have finally cracked and bought a
Buff. Clothing you can play with - what's not to like? And in other flair-related news, I think I've now got the hang of the Follow. It was a hard trick to learn, because it's basically 423 with Under the Hand throws and chops, and one of the tricks that I know best is Burke's Barrage, which is also 423 with Under the Hand throws and chops. Unfortunately, the Follow is meant to be a time-reversal of Charlie's Cheat, and I don't think mine is, which means I'm doing at least one of them wrong. I've also realised that I wasn't doing 441 right - I was actually doing the closely related (but easier) synchronous pattern (6,2)(2x,4)(2,6)(4,2x). Easy mistake to make...
[Edit: I meant, of course, (4,2)(2x,4)(2,4),(4,2x), ie a Box with an extra self throw on each side. (6,2)(2x,4)(2,6)(4,2x) would be a 3.5 ball pattern, and thus unjuggleable :-)]
I went to the bank today, to find out why they're still sending the juggling club's statements to the old treasurer's address. It turns out that the latest mandate they have for the account is the one adding me as a signatory - so they've lost the one adding
wormwood_pearl as Treasurer, even though she's been signing our cheques for three months! Either way, they're clueless, and I hereby warn everyone off Bank of Scotland.
