Radiohead: are they any good?

Today I shall be mostly listening to Radiohead, in an attempt to find out if they're as bad as I remember

I can enjoy radiohead when I'm in the right mood, but haven't listened in a good while. My usual go-to for depressed music is the Eels - and it's probably a good thing that I haven't felt like listening to them in a fair bit.

Of course, all this has happened before, and all this will happen again...

The Eels can be very depressing, it's true. But not all of their stuff is - their album Souljacker is positively upbeat, though sometimes in a "hell yeah I'm gonna go out and murder all the people who didn't appreciate me and bury their bodies in the woods" kind of way.

Yup - and Mr E's Beautiful Blues is positively bouncy :)

I guess I should have been more specific - the "electroshock blues" album is what I was thinking about....

Yes, that's an album I very rarely feel like listening to :-(

I think I've never actually listened to it. Though I may own it.

As it happens, I really like The Smiths, but Morrissey's voice has the same effect on wormwood_pearl as Thom Yorke's does on me :-(

I wonder how many (or what percentage of) people like more than one generation of that sort of thing?
