Enrollment, and then Some

Jun 14, 2011 14:05

All the enrollment posts have made me think really hard. True, the process can be quite tedious and taxing on the body and mind of a student. Especially given a culture like UP's where there simply aren't enough classes or professors to accommodate the needs of all who need the subjects. The lines, the prerogs, the stress just takes its toll on you. It takes hours upon hours, even days, to finally be registered for a semester.

Then I think about my current financial state and the experience of paying for someone's tuition. It takes a student that much time, but it takes the parents/guardians an even longer time to accumulate the money needed for enrollment. What more if it's a university like the Ateneo or a trisem one like DLSU?

Of course, if you're a parent, it means you have a family. You need to provide your family with a home, too. Bills for utilities. Mortgage. Rent. Monthly amortization.

I guess the bottom line is that I thought I'd be ready. But, right now? No way. There's no way I'd be able to make ends meet.

musings, real life shits
