Oh, you'll never believe this...
...but the most hilarious typo popped up today. I say that after the famous "Pleez help me I have cat herpes" incident, and after many innocent times spent dropping the l from "public." (the spell checker won't catch that one)
At this paper, we do a monthly special publication. Last month it was a booklet of my photographs of the big fair, in May it was a graduation memento with every senior's picture in it - you get the idea. This month, it's a cookbook of sorts, compiled of submitted recipes. I typed up all of the hand-written ones (there were a lot, and handwriting in general is really going downhill). A few were also submitted online. This one was submitted online, otherwise, I would have caught the other spelling errors in this particular recipe, one that called for Crock-Pot Zucchini Bread.
As I flipped through the completed book, some funny kerning caught my eye and I looked closer.
"Place zucchini inside cock pot."
Oh, dear Lord. It hasn't gone out yet, but we're going to get reamed.
The best response to it, however, was from another reporter. "Well, now all the people who wanted to make this recipe are going to be circling the aisles in WalMart, looking hopelessly for a cock pot."
