Oh, that's a great story! I'd love to see you continue it, but it stands nicely on it's own. One of my fic "kinks" is seeing the characters from an outside perspective. This works well, and it nicely fills in the blanks.

You know Angel? Tall, dark, good dresser, hair like a gay hedgehog?”

Hee! Very Spike!

Thanks so much! Spike with a baby in his arms is one of my favorite images in the series.

What an absolutely lovely present, I'm so touched. Angel’s had a change of heart. You know Angel? Tall, dark, good dresser, hair like a gay hedgehog?” Bwah!
A woman, her little sister, and a boy live there. The girls may not believe this -" here he pressed a heavy, resume-quality envelope into Amanda's hand - "If they don't, ask the boy - Andrew - to confirm it. Tell him that Spike said it's okay. If he doesn't believe you, tell him Gandalf's returned and likely to upgrade his colors - again."
What a brilliant idea, sending them to Buffy would indeed be the perfect solution. And it also announces that he's back (I'm still going with the theory that Buffy doesn't know he's back).
“William. Wiliam Randall Bennett.”
“Huh.” They’d never thought about it before - not seriously, anyway. “William’s okay. Not too thrilled with Randall. No son of mine will be named Randy.” Aww, Spike you old softie.

Thank you m'dear. Hope you're having a wonderful birthday!
And yeah, I'm going on the assumption that Buffy and crew don't know he's back. I tend to think it would be logical, since I doubt Spike killed the entire group when taking Amanda's son back, and the little family would need some protection and a place to hide.
Hee! Spike is the velvet fist in the iron glove.

What an amazing story! I never thought of that particular scene - but it makes sense and fits great into cannon.

“Champion of the helpless, protector of puppies and all that rot.”
Perfect Spike voice. I also love that he sent them to Buffy with a letter.

Great treat first thing in the morning!

Thank you so much! I think I mentioned it before in another comment, but Spike really is the velvet fist in the iron glove.

Thank you so much! I've got another chapter for it written, but I want to get a few more written, and more of an idea of where the story's going before I post it.

It's one of my favorite parts of Season 5 Angel, too. It's the perfect task for him, as well, a balance of hard fighting and a gentle embrace.

There's a great early Xena: Warrior Princess episode where she's protecting a baby, and she's fighting off the bad guys while going through a series of crazy maneuvers, trying to keep the baby in her arms safe. I imagined the fight that took place offscreen was similar.

Terrific story!

Oh -- gay hedgehog! LOL!

The Kyle, Amanda and baby angle -- really, really moving.

Now I'm going to go re-read :) .

Thanks so much! I have to think that Spike spends large amounts of time thinking up the perfect insults for Angel.

(And I swear I'm working on Liaisons - it's just taking a while to rewrite)
