Loss of power
Thank you Consumers Energy of Michigan for ruining my 3-day weekend. The funny thing is that my power went out before the storm hit this area, and the stop lights just down the street have power...
At around 5:11pm EDT yesterday, my residence lost power. As of 9:00am EDT today, power is still out there.
When I called the power company this morning to get the latest estimate for when power would be restored, the automated system quoted me "Wednesday June 1 at 11:30am."
That's just ridiculous. I'm assuming power will be back later today.
Even better, since today is a federal holiday, my workplace (State of MI Romney building across the street from Michigan's capitol building) is locked up, so I can't even go in today to do some work.
I'm currently sitting in a Burger King in South Lansing using their public WIFI connection (after eating; remember, no power at home), I'm only connecting to sites that use SSL on their login pages, such as LiveJournal.
It'd be nice if someone here could let people in other places I'm active in know that I currently don't have power. For example, over on OCR's TF2 thread. Allied Modders I'll handle myself, because that hasn't yet been blocked from work, so I can contact them tomorrow.
P.S. My DS's power ran out 30 minutes after the power outage started. I'd recharge it, but...
At least I still have yet to read 3-4 books I recently got, which is the only consolation.
