Well, to say I've had an interesting week would be a lie. It's been a lot more than that.

i'll tell you the whole story -

I went in for work today.

Got called into my MD's office. Both MD's were in there, and my manager, Tiran.

"We've come to the conclusion you're not right for Qi, and it would be best if you weren't here any longer than you need to be"

"right..."

"You're just not suited to the fast paced way that we do things. We've had a few customer complaints and we can't have that.Do you have any questions"

I stopped here for about 5 minutes to gather my thoughts. They were sat around probably thinking I was going to go off like a loose cannon.

"...no"

"Pack your things. We'll pay you for the rest of the month"

So I went downstairs and started packing my things etc. Then my manager Tiran came down and said "you should have been more enthusiastic on site, looked like you really wanted to do well. We were struggling with your commitment."

Then I explained to him that it was too little too late, and that he is hardly a good manager to tell me these things once I've been fired. Then he told me he was sure I would find a good job elsewhere, and I explained that he can't truly think that if he was firing me. Then he said that wasn't the case, and I said that it didn't matter, I'll work somewhere else.

Then I packed my things up and spoke to my Dad. He gave me the lowdown that I had made a few mistakes. I hadn't got my P45 before I went off site, and I hadnt got in writing why they were firing me.

During this time I also read my rules of employment which said that I was to be paid a full month from the date, not just till the end of the month.

So I went back into the office, mad that they were trying to rip me off, and told them I wanted my expenses money, my P45, last months payslip, this months, and next months, and that I wanted a letter as to why i was fired. My boss said he would write the letter straight away. Half an hour later, and I am sat down in my old office, and my dad who has got bored waiting outside for me, has come inside. My boss comes downstairs and says "I'll have to forward that letter to you, it's not finished". I told him that it wasn't good enough and that I wanted the letter before I left the premises, and he said "Sorry, I can't do that, I need my solicitors advice". My dad then butted in and said "You mean you've been running this company for ten years and you take solicitors advice regarding unemployment AFTER you fire people???"

Then my dad walked all over this guy saying how it was all wrong, and how he was breaking the law. About 10 minutes later, i got my letter.

I also received my 3 paychecks. No expense money though, as of yet, but I am filing it through.

My letter states that I am being fired on the grounds of "poor performance". This isn't a fair representation of the work I did at Qi, as last month they wanted to take me out for a drink for the work I had been doing, and it was the company's biggest ever month.

In my favour, I have 2 pieces of documentation stating that my performance at Qi has been good, and they like the way I do things, so the poor performance thing is bullshit. I have contacted my solicitor and sent him the documents and they have written an aggressive letter to them stating that they can't break the law, and have told them that they need to come to an agreement as soon as possible or it will go to a tribunal. If it goes to a tribunal, I am in luck. If they change my status from "fired" to "he resigned" I am in luck. Any way I look at it, being fired from there will probably get me a decent job elsewhere. They also fired me without any written warnings, and they will have broken the law doing that. I could stand to make some money out of this, but I'd prefer to just have my status changed at the minute.

I am severely pissed off though.

But in other news, due to my payoff, I'll probably get my car a bit earlier, and I'm still hoping for a test asap. That'll help me get a new job.

I haven't been out and met a girl for ages though. I think I might go and try tonight. I need to do something to cheer me up. Last night I went to the pub and that was pretty good, but still, locla pubs do not hold a fountain of attractive girls.

The hunt continues...
