Dallas
Just arrived in Dallas. My cousin's wedding is tomorrow...
I am off to the Kimball Museum in Fort Worth. In the meantime, I am processing everything that has transpired the past 9 days. Loco, I tell you.
VERY, VERY RAD:
1) Waking up to my wee niece coming into my room to read to me (one of her ongoing homework assignments is to read out loud to someone for at least 10 minutes a day). She read the end of a Mrs. Piggle Wiggle story. Then she wanted to play charades.
When she first entered the room, she was carrying a stuffed deer I had bought for her in Nara. She loves him. His name is Deery, apparently. She created a large bed for the wee antlered one, using a lap desk, pillow and blanket. So awesome. She took the deer to school today for show and tell. LOVE IT.
2) When I walked up to the Hertz rental desk here in Dallas, the employees started screaming (for joy) about my Obama t-shirt. Many of them came over to shake my hand. I received multiple upgrades, and free GPS. Sweet...
