okay, i know it's been a LOONG while since i've posted, but i really need everyone's help!
background information: my sister met, fell in love with, and married alan while at MC a few years ago. alan's siter, alana, has cystic fibrosis. CF is a fatal genetic disease that is extremely brutal and drawn out. there is no cure, but a double lung transplant can prolong life for around 6-8 years. alana pushed the limits by living to be 20 WITHOUT a transplant, though through the months and years she had grown progressively worse. she was on constant 24-hour oxygen and spent 2 weeks out of every month in the hospital. her insurance finally dropped her coverage, saying that the funds grew too much to handle. transplant teams won't operate without insurance, so without insurance, it was basically a death sentence. well, they were able to find another insurance plan and now it was a sit and wait game, much like it had been throughout her life. many, MANY false hopes and trips made in vain continued...until she finally got her lungs. after only 4 weeks in the hospital, she was able to go home!
meanwhile, alana's boyfriend avery had proposed, and a tentative date was set for this december. she had been planning her wedding up until the surgery, and now that she's home, she's been continuing her planning.
here's where EVERYONE you can possibly get comes in: she was entered in a contest with the local radio station to win a wedding, and out of the other 2 contestants, she is DEFINATELY more worthy to win this. this family has been through so much and i can honestly say i have never met someone as strong as her. you vote on a website, and the article is:
