weekend went pretty well, considering a lot of stuff...
so i was driving home yesterday and the drive is around 6 1/2-7 hours, depending on traffic and such. i had made it through most of it pretty well, not feeling tired or anything. passed through atlanta traffic, gone through birmingham...well, i wasnt exactly paying attention to how fast i was going and as i was driving through tuscaloosa, i saw a cop on the side of the road and immediately thought "i'm getting a ticket...". i knew he had seen me. i pulled off onto an exit and he followed me there. he got behind me and turned on his lights. i pulled over and he came out of the car, asking for my license. i gave it to him, and though the officer was being an absolute prick, i managed to hold off bawling like a small child until he gave me my ticket and i drove off. he said he clocked me going 86 in a 70, and he was right. i know i was speeding and it was my fault, but the guy was being so rude to me. i know he probably didnt want to work on easter and hell, i dont blame him but he didnt have to be as mean as he was.
*sigh* my first ticket. my court date is may 18th and it's in tuscaloosa. so i'll have to take off work and drive all the way to the other side of alabama and go to court. i dont know if there's anything i can do to get it off my record, but i'm gonna try. my sister got one in MS and they said if she wanted to get it erased, all she had to do was go to this driving school. i'm willing to go but again, we'll have to see what the judge says.
any suggestions? i've never been to court before. *sniff*
