In general, Lelouch was not a very sexual throughout the series. As a child, he went through a couple of very traumatic experiences that took an emotional toll on him. Not only did he have to deal with the death of his mother, but his beloved little sister had become both blind and crippled. It didn’t help that he felt like his father played a part in his mother’s death. Throughout most of his life, he did not have any time to focus on relationships and love. He was completely consumed by his desire to destroy his father’s empire, rebuild the world, and take care of his little sister. Many people learn about relationships, and how to explore their feelings during their teenaged years. Lelouch on the other hand, never strayed very far from his sister’s side.

As a result, his relationship development was very awkward. However, he displayed signs that he was attracted towards women. Not only did he find women confusing and have problems expressing himself, but it was dangerous for anyone to get attached to him. He knew was headed down the path of damnation, and allowing anyone to get attracted to him or vice versa, risked dragging that person with him. On numerous accounts, he pushed people away from him when they started to become attached to him. However, there are several examples of when he did reach out to someone in ways that could be considered romantic.

One of his classmates, Shirley, had feelings for Lelouch. For a long time, she struggled to tell him how she felt. Lelouch was mostly oblivious. He was either too busy focusing on his sister, on being Zero, or he just didn’t pick up on the hints that were sent his way. Her feelings for him became very clear when her father died. She met Lelouch out in the rain and told him that her father died. Then she asked him to help her. She lifted her head to kiss him, and he kissed her in return. Part of his desire to kiss her came from guilt, since he was indirectly responsible for his death.

Events that happen later in the series suggest that when he kissed her, there may have been some romantic feelings behind the kiss as well. In the second season, Sayoko, his maid who is also a ninja, disguised herself as Lelouch and pretended to be him. She was too nice to all of the girls in the school and set up dates with them, she also kissed Shirley. At first Shirley is excited. It doesn’t take her long to become annoyed. She quickly found out ‘Lelouch’ set up dates with around 60 girls. When she confronted him, Lelouch tried to apologize to her by offering a gift he bought her. The gift only made Shirley more upset, and Lelouch began to panic mentally. He didn’t think “I don’t care about this” but rather, “I don’t know what I am doing. I am making her angrier, and I don’t know how to fix it.” The incident further suggested that Lelouch wasn’t so much asexual,l as he didn’t understand his feelings.

The next day, the student president held an event where girls wear red heart shaped hats and men wear blue. The event lead to humorous chases, and Lelouch had to tackle Shirely down some stairs to save her. Shirley told Lelouch that it was okay if she didn’t like him, which would have made it easy for Lelouch to back away if he didn’t care. Instead, he yelled “NO!” and gave her a serious look. After he yelled, he became awkward again and didn’t know what else to say. Most likely, because he couldn’t explain to her all the reasons why he could never act on any feelings he had.

Then there’s Kallen. Kallen was the Ace of the Black Knights, and someone Lelouch spent a lot of time with. The two of them ended up in compromising positions a couple of times. For the most part, their relationship was focused on the Black Knights’ goals. When Nunnally became the viceroy of Area 11, he did something that suggested his feelings for her might go deeper than that. He became depressed, and took off by himself for awhile. Kallen tracked him down so she could try and figure out what was going on. He was about to inject himself with a drug, when she showed up. When she saw him with the drug, she went off on him. She said he would do anything, which prompted him to walk over to her, and tell him to console him. That there were things a woman could do for a man. He leaned in to kiss her, but she pushed him away at the last second. While they did not kiss at the time, later on when Kallen went to say her goodbyes to Lelouch, the two kissed. Kallen leaned in to kiss him, but the viewers cannot see what exactly happened next, since the artist drew them from a distance. When the two are zoomed in on, it looked Like Lelouch kissed her in return. His eyes were closed over and his head was tilted towards her.

Lelouch also showed attachment to C.C..When she was taken to the World of C, he chased after her. While in there, he thought he was going to lose her. To try and stop her from giving up, he yelled something along the lines of “No! You can’t take her from me! She’s my…she’s my..!” He didn’t say anything else, which is likely because he wasn’t quite sure what she was to him. Still, he was compelled to say something, because he did have some sort of feelings for her. C.C. wanted to die, but he refused to her give up on life. He promised her he would make her smile and was relieved when she returned to him. C.C was immortal and did not have to worry about injuries. Lelouch was aware of her immortality, but when she came back from a battle unscathed, he was relieved. The two sat back-to-back and while they spoke, he let C.C cover his hand with his own. For most people, this gesture would pale in comparison to kisses and hugs, but given how Lelouch was the type to seldom show any affection towards someone who was not his sister; the gesture was fairly significant.

One of the people who touched his heart the most, was Euphemia. Euphemia was his half-sister, who he used to spend a lot of time with as a child. Lelouch did not care too much for the rest of his siblings who were not Nunnally, but he still cared for Euphemia. When the two ended up together on an island and he was in his Zero costume, she guessed his true identity. Instead of trying to deny it, he took his mask off in front of her. Whenever he was around Euphemia and tried to be Zero, she always found a way to make him behave like Lelouch again. After he temporarily lost control of his Geass, and accidentally ordered Euphemia to kill all of the Japanese she came across, he had to kill her. As he shot her, he thought to himself “Good bye, Euphemia. You were the first girl I ever loved.” The two are siblings, but he never had any thoughts like that towards his other siblings. Plus, the two were half-siblings. In many royal families, it is not uncommon for cousins to marry each other so it would not be that strange for half-siblings to have an attraction towards each other.

» Personality: Lelouch was a complicated character to say the least. There were many layers to him and his ‘true self’ is usually reserved for his sister, and those he held close to his heart. Even then he doesn’t always show his true nature. For many, lying is deceptive and cruel. Lelouch on the other hand, saw the value in lies. Lies allow people to blend into society, and for society itself to function. The truth could be as destructive of lies.

The layer that most people were exposed to was his cold and calculating layer. To Lelouch, the world was one big game of chess. Whoever could master the game would master the world. There was always a purpose and thought behind any move that he made. It usually belonged to a chain of moves that he planned to make to meet the end goals. Lelouch was a genius with a vast intellectual capacity. What would take a normal person hour, upon hours of training to pick up, he could self teach himself and learn whatever it was much faster. Having that level of intelligence aided him greatly in making his plans. Not only did it allow him to make educated guesses, but it also fueled him with confidence. Usually, his opponent was not on the same intellectual level as he was, so he felt assured he could outmaneuver them.

This confidence often transformed itself into arrogance, and what could be mistaken as self-righteousness. It would be easy to view someone like Lelouch as self-righteous. When he became Zero, he planned to destroy the world and recreate it in the way that he deemed fit. Someone who was self-righteous would be smug about his or her moral superiority, believing that his or her values, actions, and virtues were far greater than most people. While Lelouch certainly believed that the world he wanted to create was more just and better than a world ruled by Britannia, he willing admitted that he would use evil to achieve his goals. If he had to create a greater evil to devour the current evil in the world, he would do it. The world he lived in was hardly a fair world where justice prevailed. It was a world that was ruled by power, greed, and corruption. It was quick to consume any goodness and infected it with corruption. So, using similar tactics was the only way to be victorious. Throughout the series Lelouch used tactics that would make many typical protagonists cringe. He stripped people of their will power so that he could control them and used them for his bidding. If someone was his enemy, he believed they had forfeited their freedom. They already allowed themselves to be controlled by his family and their politics. When he lost control of his Geass and made Euphemia go on a killing spree, he took her life so he could rally the Japanese people. While there was regret, in order to keep his plan going, he would take the life of someone he loved. There was nothing to be done at that point and letting his emotions overwhelm would have made her sacrifice be in vain.

He was aware that having such a mentality and following such a path would have consequences. Once, he said that someone who shoots should prepare to be shot. Whatever actions he took, he did not shrink from his responsibility, and did not feel the need to justify what he did to anyone. That did not mean that he did not regret some of the things that he did, but everything he did have a reason behind it. He worked towards a greater good. The choice was one he decided to make, it was better than hiding in the shadows, praying that someone else would come along. When Suzaku confronted him at the Kururugi temple, he demanded answers from Suzaku. He asked him if he used his Geass on Euphie, if he was responsible for Shirley’s death, and a number of other questions. Lelouch could have explained that he temporarily lost control of his Geass and he never meant to use Euphie. He also could have told Suzaku that it was Rolo who killed Shirely, but he did not. Everything that happened was because of choices he made, they may have indirectly played a role, but they played a role all the same. If he began to make excuses than it would be like he regretted his actions and was trying to shake his responsibility. In the end, if he achieved the greater good, than whatever consequences came along, were worth it.

Even though he did not make up any excuses for what he did, the losses of life that had been suffered, weighed heavily upon him. As a child, he seemed to know that being close to him would be dangerous. He often held people at a distance and did not allow anyone to get close to him. As an adult, he continued to put a wall up. He made friends and allowed people to be around him, but he never completely took his wall down. The only people who he ever let get past his wall were his sister, C.C., and Suzaku. The Black Knights found themselves frustrated at times because Zero did not reveal his identity to them. He was always careful about letting anyone from the organization get to close to him. He wanted to save them. He did not want to drag them down with him if his plan ended up not being a success.

Beneath those layers was a gentler person. When he was around his beloved little sister Nunnally, he could often be seen smiling. If she needed anything, he did not hesitate to get it for her. The world would likely be shocked, if they knew the great Zero pretended to be Santa Clause for his sister. In some ways, Lelouch viewed Zero as a different entity than himself. There were things that Zero believed, and then things that Lelouch believed. In the past, Kallen asked him if something was what Lelouch believed or if it was what Zero believed. Zero wanted to topple the Britannian Empire to revolutionize the world, Lelouch wanted to protect those who were important to him. At first, everything that he did was for Nunnally. He wanted to create a gentle world for her, where she could be happy. Her smile meant so much to him. He always wanted her to smile. In time, he began to meet new people and form friendships.

Even though it could be troublesome, he would usually go along with the different antics that the student council at Ashford Academy came up with. He would fondly recall his memories with his childhood friend Suzaku, and he never stopped believing in their friendship, even when it became extremely strained. When his back was up against a wall, C.C. reminded him of how friends help each other, and he automatically thought of Suzaku. He agreed with C.C., friends were there when they needed each other. To Lelouch, friendship was a precious commodity. Eventually, his reasons for wanting to change the world went beyond Nunnally. He wanted to make the world a better place for his friends as well.

Some times to show he cared and valued his friendship with people, he would do visible things. Other times, he would do things that while outwardly seemed cold and stand offish. Inwardly, he was trying to protect them. When the Black Knights turned on Lelouch, and prepared to shoot him, Kallen stepped in front of him. She asked him what she meant to him, and he knew that if he told her he cared about her, she wouldn’t leave his side. He did not want her to die because of him, so he told her that she was his most useful pawn. She walked away from him, and just before she was out of earshot, he whispered that she needed to live. If he had lived through everything that was going on, he would have spent more time being openly appreciative of his friendships. The student council waited on him one evening to shoot off fireworks with him, and he promised he would come back and they would do it together. Unfortunately, he was unable to keep his promise, but the sentiment was there.

» Appearance: Lelouch is 5’10, and has a thin build. Unlike many anime characters, his build actually reflects his physical prowess. He never has and likely will never be, physically fit. His dark black hair is kept short at the back, then in the front his bangs are rather long, and they sweep across his face. By far, his most notable features are his eyes. Their natural color is a vibrant violet. More often than not, there’s an inquisitive look in them. However, his eye color has changed because of his Geass becoming continuously active. Instead of being violet, they are now a bright red that swirl with energy. With his Geass nullified on the island, his eyes will revert back to their natural color.

» Suitability: As of season 2 Lulu is 18. So, he is set.
