Dollhouse 1x03

Dollhouse, why are you failing so hard?

Splitting atom lead to the bomb, therefore the skience behind the Dollhose necessarily leads to the Dollhouse? The "I Am Being Deep" tone of (and music behind!) the damn speech also made me throw up a bit in my mouth. On the other hand, crutchrifle!

I do like the idea of screwing with the FBI agent (and sending him to a fake Dollhouse) for kicks. And...shooting him? Sure, why not.

Future plot complication alert: Newhandlerman obviously hits many of Echo's handler's professional/personal squicks.

I dislike the idea of white male agent type knowing "his star" enough to manipulate her into accepting Echo as a friend.

Wait, seriously? The star knows she's going to die? The killer writes in purple sharpie on pink paper? Wait, the killer WRITES THREE SEPARATE POST-IT NOTES informing her of his intentions? (paraphrased: "TONIGHT IS IT" "YOUR LAST NIGHT" "GOODBYE!") Assorted other issues:

  • They're going to put two actives on-stage?
  • Echo shining a spotlight around won't make crazyfan run?
  • They failed to catch crazyfan? How the hell?

"They grow you in a lab?" Oh fun, the star's a "factory girl" to Echo's "grown in a lab." She's "not her own person." Way to completely miss the point of, you know, having your mind completely wiped on a regular basis, Dollhouse writers. The scene is completely not saved by the closing line: "You can fire me, but bitch don't think you can take me."

Okay, so crazyguy takes Sierra hostage. She doesn't castrate him? Also, if she dies, I will be seriously upset. Oh god no, crazyfan is making her sing for him. It's like Don't Forget the Lyrics.

Tableau: malfunctioning active, her kidnapped, depressed erstwhile employer, crazyfan and Sierra. Group therapy? "I don't care what happens to her. You want to kill her. She wants to die." Annnnnd Echo tosses the star over the ledge. Good thing her arms didn't dislocate. Now, the question is why Echo is allowed to exist. "I'm recommending we send Echo to the Attic." Oh, fun.

Now, how did FBI agent man's neighbor know to find him at that hospital? Was the soi disant "Dollhouse" close to their apartment building or something?
