Because there is something so inherently superior about obscurely quoting something in conversation

Just wanted to mention that I am ridiculously proud of myself for managing to get a Sherlock quote into ordinary conversation, especially the one quote I thought I'd never be able to get away with evereverever. I was sat next to Gabby in Science, and I was talking with her and this other student and this happened:

Other Unsuspecting Student: (in response) Honestly, Sarah, you're a total psychopath.
(I look at Gabby and Gabby looks at me, and then we both turn and chime, with startling and worrying precision:)
Sarah: Actually -
Gabby: She's not a psychopath -
Sarah: - I'm a high-functioning sociopath.
Both in terrifying unison: Do your research.

And then we collapsed into hysterical did-we-really-just-get-to-say-that laughter whilst the other student looked at us in total bewilderment. That whole exchange made me far too happy, I have to say, and I'm really not sure what that displays about my general state of mind, you know?

God, I'm such a fangirl it's unreal.

random little snippet, avoiding coursework like the plague, battling the demon of apathy, quoting things makes me happy, geekery, sherlock
