POW (Prisoner of Work)I am alive; I swear it. I know that I have been really, really, really, REALLY bad about stopping by LJ, even for drive-by updates. (But thanks to those of you who have been checking in on me!) I don't even want to think about how many Friend-posts I have to go through. *shudder* If you have anything exciting going on,

1997-2001: Went to Hood College, got my B.A. in Journalism/Spanish. Broke things off with Ryan (the guy I was dating in High School).
2000: Had to have major surgery. More on that later.
2001: Got engaged to a man I had met early in the year. Moved in with him in Ithaca, New York. Got a job at Cornell doing this. That's right, I am a web designer and assistant to this big international crop research program. We fund crop research in developing countries. It's a very exciting job.
2003: Engagement broke off, parents divorced, and had to have more surgery, this time for an illness that didn't go away for 3+ months. This was not a good year.
2004: Bought a house, got into grad school. I am working toward a master's degree in Horticulture here at Cornell while I work. It's going to take me another 5 years, but I am patient :)
2005: Engaged again, broken off again. Yeah, I know. I have crappy luck with men :)
2006: Met the man of my dreams and am currently engaged to marry him on May 6, 2007. That's right...5/6/07. We're both very excited about this. I'm currently training for the Ride for Life, a 50/85/100 mile bike ride around Cayuga Lake to benefit AIDS research. I see that you're doing marathons...that's REALLY cool!!! I used to run but can't anymore due to my asthma.
Wow, this is a long comment. I hope to talk to you soon--if you use a chat program, email me your handle and maybe we can chat some time that I am not working or biking :)
