Happy Presidents' Day to all members of this community. Although this holiday isn't universally observed, wherever you are, I hope it means a day off for you.
i hope it was a typing mistake Lincoln was born on the 12th Washington never celebrated his birthday on the 22nd and i have once again forgotten what day he did celebrate when he was born Britain was still using the Julian calendar
in my rural school February was a great month we celebrated all 3 days - Lincoln - Washington - and Valentines - with special projects - bulletin board displays - decorations - cupcakes!
I should have worded the one about the last president to own a slave differently. Unfortunately, in Livejournal you can't edit poll questions without having to change the whole poll. What I meant to ask was who was the last president (in order of presidency) to own a slave. Ulysses Grant, the 18th President, owned a slave that his wife inherited, but he freed him long before the civil war. Andrew Johnson was probably the last, in time, to own a slave.
