What the hell was this author thinking?! That's all I can think of right now, ugh.

Oh my Lord. I am actually pretty speechless about this one. What on earth was the author thinking, is the one question I have. The second one that I have is why write a story when you barely did any research for it ( ... )

That said, it just seems that the sexual abuse that Jen suffered for years is just there in the back corner and is never ever touched upon again.
Worse than that. Her first thought upon seeing her bedroom is "Find me a lithe, little bedwarmer and I'll be set."

The link of the day is broken. I think you accidentally switched the URL and the text.

I've yet to see a fic that insists it's not as cliché as it sounds that isn't every bit as cliché as it sounds.
And for a fic about abuse "breaking" Harry... well, for starters, if you really wanted to explore that, you should be changing as little as possible. Harry should still be the star, his parents should still be dead, etc. Honestly, if I were to try something like this, the only thing that would change would be that I'd replace Vernon with someone much worse (rather than twist a merely selfish man into a sadistic monster).
But what really gets me is that she is, if anything, less "broken" than Harry. She's arrogant and demanding, the exact opposite of what you'd expect ( ... )

I tend to find it hard to believe is that despite her infirmities, Jen didn't attempt to run. This kind of abuse is damaging, even if you're an adult ( ... )

She doesn't even have any infirmities. Yeah, she was somehow blinded by the Dursleys, but she can see perfectly with her magic, anyway. And given how she talks to her now ex-boss and responds to a former client in chapter two, I don't think she was forced to do anything.

So this is what Rose Potter would have looked like it was written by a girl

Have only read the excerpt, but my brain's going "Whahht?" This is the most OOC for James and Lily I have ever seen! Even if their child was a squib, they just wouldn't abandon her to the Dursleys and never see her again!
