When I was a suethor, I was a psycho who treatened to kill my readers with a chainsaw, but I believe that's nothing compared to being worried about your nice outfit after your mother gets murdered and you just evaded a bunch of people trying to pull the Avada Kedavra on you.
...And threaten a lovable character's life, of course.
Yeah. It would be one thing if it was presented as a form of denial (focus on the little things so you don't have to think about the big things), but it's not.
And yeah, what's up with treating Tom like that? Seems a bit extreme just to get when the train is leaving.
I'm not even sure that Tom has anything to do with the Hogwarts Express. To the most of my knowledge, he just owns the Leaky Cauldron. But then again, what do I know? Apparently, London is a very small city; small enough to only have one train station.
Yeah, that struck me as odd, too. There's no real reaon Tom should know that. It's not like 9 & 3/4 is in Diagon.
His response to her was strange, too. Laughing uncontrollably for no apparent reason and suggesting she speak with her estranged grandfather both seem rather OOC
If the known granddaughter of Dumbledore came in and started threatening you, wouldn't you want to call her grandfather to at least call her off? How would he even know that they're estranged in the first place?
