I can't decide which is worse,

A) That mermaids suddenly have transformation venom.
B) That Dumbledore would allow sleeping/helpless students near them if there was even a slight chance of one biting one of them.
C) That Hermione didn't immediately tell Ron and Harry
D) That Snape is an "Ekek"
E) That there's something with a name like "Ekek"
F) That magical creatures all have an unspoken set of laws/conspiracy against wizards.
G) That Voldemort is more worried about Hermione than Harry.

When I first read Ekek, I just thought 'Eek!' which was the name of a creature I remember reading, named because of the sound people made when they saw it. Or something like that, I only vaguely remember it.

The whole merperson thing now just reminds me of Mermadian Silke (sp?) where Snape was the merman. That's not a good thing.

Also Twilight references. Ugh.

B (for sheer oocness, B (again, sheer absurd ooc *the only time Hermione didn't told Harry nad Ron about something was with the time turner and that's because mcGonagall forbid her to do it, but then she did it for the good reason of having to use it to Save sirius; so this situation is like the saving sirius one.
G (for sheer WTF??)

as for F, I could kind of see it. The goblins (at least in DH mindset) and the centaurs, in general, don't like wizards very much.

As regards to F, I can definitely believe that certain races don't like wizards and that they conspire and keep secrets from them, but I can't see an inter-racial level to this, because as far as I can tell, most races of magical creatures don't like each other either.

Using your examples, goblins don't trust anybody, so why would they keep other races secrets and centaurs are just plain better than anybody so why would they feel kindred to "lesser" magical creatures.

Granted neither one is likely to tell a wizard anything anyway, but not due to any kind of unspoken law, but rather because Goblins never do anybody favors and because centaurs like knowing as much as possible while telling as little as tolerable.
