You know, this is really starting to depress me... I had been under the naive assumption that finding truly horrible sues would be at least something of a challenge... but no, I just bring up the Harry Potter section at the Pit of Voles, and there they are, staring me in the face on the front page.

Today, we have a truly bizarre Lily-Sue.

I get where you're coming from. I mean, I have the same thing more or less - the most I've got for a single post is about nine, although I get rather more for slow-written multi-parters.

The thing, I think, is this:

I never, ever read anything that has 'Please Read and Review' or any of the obscenely abbreviated permutations thereof in the summary. That's not what summaries are for. However, I suspect a lot of pathetic little fangirls skim-read and quick-review such things, in the (accurate) belief that their fellow pathetic little fangirls will reciprocate.

Also, a lot of them seem to have friends. I want to feedback a friend, I send them an E-Mail; reviews are for strangers. I've never had a review from a friend. Conversely, the PLFs all seem to have eight reviews per story from people who apparently know them quite well enough to communicate personally.

Finally, they review indiscriminately, and therefore get reviews from equally bad Fanficcers. We more mature and full of ourselves 'ficcers tend to only review when we have something to say, and to therefore attract a similar quality of reader.

Personally, I can't care less about a review. I know a story is okay if a complete stranger asks to archive it.
