It always amuses me the way Suethors attempt French accents. What's with the random dropping of the letter J? And is her name Jasmyne or Jesmyne? Not that I actually care, but the continuity police might.

She thinks that French people drop the first letter of a name, like Fleur did with 'Arry and 'Agrid. She doesn't get that we just pronounce it with a silent H. According to her logic, it'd be 'Umbledore, 'Raco, 'Edric, 'Ictor, 'Ita 'Keeter, 'Obby, etc.

'Umbledore, 'Raco, 'Edric, 'Ictor, 'Ita 'Keeter, 'Obby, etc.

I have no clue what half of those names are supposed to be...

Dumbledore, Draco, Cedric, Victor (Krum), Rita Skitter (but with the Sue-French 'ee'), Dobby, etc. :)

Ita Keeter sounds like the title to a wacky comedy anime...

Now that I think of it, it pretty much does, they'd just probably spell it as Ita Keter or Ita Kiter...

'Skeeter' is supposed to be spelled with two e's. It's like the shortened form of 'mosquito' - y'know, since she's so annoying you want to swat her :P

Ugh. This obvious ignorance of French disgusts me; how much do you want to bet this Suethor has only taken an extremely simple beginner course in French and has automatically assumed she (he?) is an expert?

I was actually kinda figuring she's never taken French at all... Or wrote this during the first week of class or something.

Good point ... I gave the Suethor too much credit. Now I'm thinking it's was an online-translator job.

Speaking of accents, if Jasmyne and her family are living in France, why doesn't Jasmyne have an accent?
