SAMPLE:The boys laughed then stopped abruptly, shocked to hear an American accent say, “Shift it!”

The American girl glared up at the gang of Slytherins with her stunning green eyes. She had long brown hair, and her skin looked as if it hadn’t seen sun in months. Judging by her height, the Slytherins assumed she was a first year. When she locked eyes with Draco, there was a brief moment of silent between the two of them.

“Exchanged student?” Draco finally broke the silence, and glared back at the American girl.

“Not exactly,” she replied, sharply. “Now you mind getting your heard of cattle out of my way?” She tried to push past them, but Draco immediately stepped in front of her.

“You’re new to Hogwarts so I’ll let you off with a warning this time. But the first thing you should know is that my father-“ The girl looked Draco straight in his eyes and cut him off.

“I don’t care who you are or who you’re daddy is! You need to move!”

With that, she pushed her way past Draco and Goyle, both slightly stunned by her strength.

“It isn’t over mudblood,” Draco spat at her as she past. The girl pivoted on her last step and turned to face him.

“Oh that’s what you think?” she said, arching her eyebrows, giving him a sneer frighteningly similar to his own. The gang of Slyterins glared at her as she turned away.

“She’s gonna be fun,” Draco said with a sly smile.

“Who was that?” Pansy Parkinson asked, walking up behind the boys.

“A foreign mouthy mudblood,” Draco replied, leading the way to the exit.

When they reached the castle, Crabbe and Goyle followed Draco and Pansy into the great hall and took their seats at the Slytherin table just as the Sorting Hat was finishing it’s song. Professor McGonagall became calling the first years’ names in alphabetical order, when Pansy snapped Draco out of his boredom.

“There’s that mouthy mudblood,” she whispered, pointing to the end of the line. She looked much older than the first years, and much less timid. After the last first year was sorted into Hufflepuff, Professor McGonagall introduced the new American student.

“Audriana Ackers is a fifth year, transferring from an American school under unfortunate circumstances. I hope that all of you will welcome her with open arms, regardless of which house she is sorted into. Now,” Professor McGonagall led Audriana up to the stool and placed the Sorting Hat on her head which instantly shouted, “SLYTHERIN!”

All of the Slytherins stood and cheered, while Pansy, Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle exchanged a look of disbelief. Audriana walked confidently to her house table, displaying a beautiful smile to her new classmates. She finally chose an empty seat directly across from Draco Malfoy. With her elbow on the table, she leaned forward resting her chin on the back of her hand. Draco continued to glare at her.

“Too prideful to greet your new housemate?” Audriana said, smiling widely. Before Draco could reply, food filled the table and the feast had begun. Draco didn’t say another word to Audriana, but listened instead to her carrying on conversations with Daphne Greengrass and Alex Flint.

“Please,” she began. “Call me Audrey.”

She proceeded to explained to them (almost in a bragging tone) how she had been kicked out of the only two wizard schools in America, mostly for things she didn’t even bother to achieve with magic. Draco was terribly irritated by her flirtatious smiles and giggles as much as he tried not to notice. Pansy Parkinson glared at Audrey every time she unintentionally stole Draco’s attention from her. Crabbe and Goyle hardly ate during the feast, as they couldn’t keep their eyes off her.
