Don’t forget about the first bi-annual Pottersues Contest which is replacing the old annual Pottersues Contest. The theme for said contest is Gamer Fic. Since Gamer Fic is a rather new concept in fanfic, I’ve added links to three entries which feature a Gamer Fic. I’m also working on a list of common traits we find in Sue stories which make them ( Read more... )

You're right. Daenery's in canon isn't meek. There's still no getting around the fact the writer dehumanized her character in the fanfic by handwaving her character growth by giving her various convenient plot devices such as the memories Sirys and she have from the world of Harry Potter.

Daenery's from the fanfic whose a strong character because of convenient plot devices pales in comparison to in canon Daenery's who is a strong character because of what she went through. In addition to this, Daenery's in the fanfic who doesn't have to deal with misogyny because the writer treated it as something which can go away simply by passing a law can't even begin to compare with Daenery's from canon who overcame the misogyny in her culture with her own power.

As for the posters claim that Sansa is an antagonist in GOT, I'm wondering if the writer is biased by a dislike for her character. After all, I am able to find her on the wiki for heroes, but not on the wiki for antagonists or the wiki for heroes. What I can find essay wise, such as Den of Geeks "Game of Thrones: Ranking" of All the Villians" she doesn't even make the list. However, the writer tried arguing they were justified in their characterization by removing one of the pivotal events who shaped Sansa into who she is as a character in the GOT when in fact it does not.

So no.

There's no getting around the fact the narrative bends for Daenery's in the fanfic. There's no getting around the fact Mary Sue!Daenery's pales in comparison to canon!Daenery's. There's no getting around the fact the canon and fanfic treat the subject of misogyny very differently. There's no getting around the fact the writer's bias against Sansa shows through.

As for not knowing the writer's end game, that doesn't change the fact the writer is definitely off to a bad start.

It doesn't change the fact that you have no competence whatsover to even create something like this and that the fact that you think you can judge other people's works - especially fanfictions which are written for fun and by definition don't follow canon - shows your arrogance.

You are pathetic for even thinking of creating something like this, no matter the authors' competences in writing that you think you can judge here. I feel sorry for you, for you clearly don't have a life meaningful enough to do something you actually love instead of judging others for doing things for fun.

I doubt any of the authors whose stories you judge expected to be considered as some kind of examples of good writing. They write fanfictions because they love to do it, nothing more or less. You are the problem here, not them, no matter if their characters are mary sues or not.

And anyway, mary sues or not (which I don't think it applies here, because, like I said, you missed the point of the whole thing, or why the author decided to write a summary in their story) the people clearly like it. Too bad for you I guess, because they get attention and appreciation, and you don't.

The only thing you do by putting stories in your site, is give those stories more attention. I guess the authors should thank you for that, since, beside the pathetic idiots like you, that take you seriously, nobody else really care what you think.

Almost forgot to tell you, you clearly think you are superior to all those authors you bash, well, you're not, you're way worse than all of them put together. You see, I already told you that you are pathetic, but I didn't explain why.

You are pathetic, and I hope it really sinks into your dumb skull that you are, because, instead of applying yourself to do something, to create something, you bash on onther people's works, without any competence or rights to do so.

Maybe it's not great work, but really, you are literally no one to judge if it's any good or not, but the point is that they try. You can not like it and it's fine, but thinking that you can judge them and find them wanting? Your arrogance really knows no bounds. Especially because this is fanfiction, nobody is paying for them to write or anything. It's just a hobby, not a job. So, really, judging other people's hobbies? How pathetic can you get?

That's what makes you pathetic. Your supposed superiority is just a way for you to feel somewhat relevant and better about yourself. But you mean nothing, your opinion means nothing. Not to the authors, who will keep doing what they love, in spite of your pathetic attempts to tell them what they can and cannot write according to your criterias (and they're your criterias, because you're not the fanfiction police), not to the readers, who will keep reading and appreciate them and their stories.

While you, with your paltry group of likeminded individuals (dumb, arrogant idiots just like you), will still keep doing this, and nobody still won't care. You still won't be able, I imagine, to create something of your own, otherwise you would have done it already. See? This is just a pathetic attempt on your part to make you feel relevant and important when you're not. So sad. I really, really pity you.

You're clearly an idiot with an inflated sense of self-importance so I'm not going to waste anymore of my valuable time here, unlike you, who clearly have way too much time on your hands.

Just wanted to add one last thing. The author clearly stated that their first few chapters of their story 'The Dragon Queen' are summary chapters for what would have happened in the prequel to said story, 'Mother of Dragons' but they still didn't get to write it yet. So, your whole argument about character development, and all that, is completely pointless, since they are, you know, summary chapters. And in a summary, I guess I need to explain it to you since you clearly don't know, only the major info is stated. Not everything that happens in the actual story, not the feelings of the characters etc. If you had judged the actual chapters the author had written, I would have understood, but you didn't. You simply assumed stuff because you clearly have a grudge against people that don't follow canon to the letter and that write female harry potter as well. Or you wouldn't have created this site in the first place (beside your pathological need to gather attention without really doing anything useful or commendable in anyway).

Also, about Sansa, the fact that she's in the heroes wiki or whatever, doesn't mean shit. Just because D&D tried to paint her as some kind of smart hero, doesn't mean they succeded, the opposite in fact. Sansa was a villain plain and simple in season8, whether you want to admit it or not, and whether she ended up on top in the end. Backstabbing your brother and manipulating and plotting to get your own way are things that Cersei and Littlefinger used to do. So, yes, Sansa is an antagonist in canon and the author of this story just kept her as she was in canon.

Bye, have fun be pathetic and having no life. It's not like anyone cares what you and your dumb followers of this site think anyway. The authors you put here are going to keep enjoying having followes and receiving comments, while you'll still be here, being bitter and jealous (because that's clearly what you are) because you probably can't write for shit and therefore, just to get the attention you feel you deserve and that makes you feel important, need to do this. What a sad, pathetic life.

I now know you’re the writer, but I’m also aware of the fact you’ve been letting other writers featured here know they’ve been featured. Contrary to what the writer thinks, how the writer gets to the end of their story is important, but so is the character development through the entire work.

As for Sansa, the fact she isn’t on the antagonist/villain wikis and only on the hero wiki does matter as does the fact she doesn’t make it onto any of the lists for GOT villains is important. In fact, she’s instead on a list called “Game of Thrones: 10 Characters That Would Have Made Amazing Villains (But Weren’t)”. It’s important because it shows that the majority of GOT does not agree with the writer, yet the writer honestly thinks it is okay to push that they’re right on this matter simply because they hate said character.

Anonymous comments are now filtered because of the writer's actions.

The writer really doesn’t have room to call others pathetic, tell them they’re lacking in competence or that they think they’re superior to others when they pulled a Not-Bob and a Sal; pulling a Not-Bob means they tried pretending to be a reader defending the writer and a Sal means they contacted other writers regarding the fact stories were featured here. Pottersues already discovered one of the writers who was featured recently deleted the story featured, but I looked at their profile; said entry indicated there were more stories on their profile, meaning the writer deleted all of their stories.

Ones actions have consequences, but in this case another writer ended up getting hurt.
