- Don't forget about the Sorting Hat.
Here is day four of Hermione’s sister.

TITLE: Melanie Granger?
PERPETRATOR: Lexa-Jean-Ride
SUE-O-METER: Awful
COVER/BANNER ART: The writer’s avatar is a Star Wars character using force powers.
SUMMARY:” Everyone knows about Hermione Granger, but what about her fraternal twin sister Melanie? What happens when Harry and Ron find out some surprising secrets about their bookworm friend and her relationship with her sister? Find out all the answers in this story. Rated T for safety.”
FULL NAME: Melanie Granger
SPECIES: Hermione’s twin sister
HAIR:
EYES:
MARKINGS: “I cringed as I spotted my reflection in the mirror, I was a complete mess; my frizzy brown hair was sticking out all over the place, I had drool on my chin, my nose was running slightly and my skin was puffy and pale. My typical morning appearance. However, after washing my face, brushing my hair, cleaning my teeth and putting my robes on (along with my socks and shows of course) I didn’t look bad.
POSSESSIONS: She has a very annoying personality.
CONNECTION TO CANON: The first chapter ends with the sentence of “by now you must be wondering who I am…” and yet I found myself wondering why I would want to know who this brat is, because that is what she is. She looks down on Hermione big time, and the entire chapter is about her getting ready for school. The next chapter pretty much complaining about how Hermione is so perfect, and she’s not. It is to the point “I haven’t actually met my sisters friends, I’m not cool enough for that, because I’m just a copy. Just a copy of my perfect sister.” Later on in the chapter Ron finally notices her, and is amazed. Hermione then notes that “I like being neat and studying, Melanie on the other hand is very messy and doesn’t like studying.” Harry stands up for her and says she’s just as diligent. Melanie’s imperfection though is a lie as we soon find out, as she’s - there is no way people wouldn’t have known Hermione had a twin, but she’s also doing just as well in school, so the complaints about Hermione being perfect come across worse than they did. She then proceeds to tag along with the original plot, doing nothing, adding nothing. Except of course now Crookshanks is running around in year one instead of three. Eventually though she’s hunting down a vampire with Harry. Said vampire is possibly Hermione, possibly not.
ORIGIN: The writer thought their OCs story was important enough to tell.
SPECIAL ABILITIES: Apparently the writer missed the memo on how uncool Hermione actually is. They also missed the fact, if Hermione introduced her sister at any time she would have been mentioned in the books. She’s got super hearing, and can hear what Hermione is saying. For being a character who isn’t noticible, she’s in the same house as Hermione, and getting points like Hermione is.

NOTES: These stories of these unknown siblings… how is it believable for these siblings who the writer admits to be unknown to have a story important enough to tell, and yet also not be important enough to warrant a shout out by Rowling? Adding another sister isn’t the main problem. The main problem is that the writer pretty much implied their story is not an AU, and that the character is missing because they’re not important enough.

SAMPLE:

'Mel? Mel? Mel!' I opened my eyes blearily and stared at the person shaking me.

'Jane?' I asked confused.

'Oh great you're awake, I was beginning to think you were dead! How do you sleep so well?' The girl asked shocked, I shrugged and pulled myself into a sitting position. After yawning and rubbing the sleep from my eyes I was finally able to observe the delicate features of my friend; she had long silky chocolate hair, a small nose, medium size green eyes and ruby red lips.

'Why did you wake me so early, Jane?' I asked groggily.

'Because we have breakfast and it's not early you've only got fifteen minutes to get dressed and ready. Not to mention that everyone else is already gone.'

'Everyone?' I asked amazed.

'Everyone.' She replied.

'Even Paisley?' I asked, glancing around at all the empty beds, Jane nodded.

'Hermione was-'
