Draco Malfoy has returned to Hogwarts, ladies and gentlemen. Father was rather busy last night, so I decided to stay on at the Manor for an extra evening. Of course, I barely made it to classes on time, as I'd had a bit of a lie-in, so I was understandably irritated for the rest of the day.

I had Herbology with the Ravenclaws, where I couldn't help but notice that one of the mousier members of the bookworm House was giving me mooning eyes for the whole of the morning. I've no idea why these insignificant little girls think I'd pay them any attention. As though I have the time to care about a Ravenclaw whose name I've heard mentioned once in my life, at the Sorting. The pathetic little witch kept staring at me, so finally I had to inform her just how pathetic she is. For some reason, every girl with a crush thinks I'm going to lower my standards. Certainly I've had thousands of girls wishing they could date me. It's terribly boring, really, being so irresistible. She started snivelling about it, which was just even more pathetic. I mean, really. As though I'd ever notice such a waste of background.

Millicent and I thought the whole thing was rather amusing, and it did add a bit of colour to the day. Of course, it was even funnier when one of the other Ravenclaws attempted to kick dirt at me. That just shows what sort of class these girls have. Kicking dirt. Fortunately, Professor Sprout gave her a detention, which she rightfully deserved for dirtying my robes.

Since I was still recuperating from my various injuries on Saturday, there was little more I could do at the Gala than greet the guests as they arrived. Professor Snape left the work I'd missed on Friday at the Manor, so I certainly won't be falling behind in my favourite class. Once the Gala was underway, I decided to spend the rest of the evening in my chambers, where I researched my Potions work on the Internet.

I've begun turning the collars of unsuspecting Slytherins to see if they're wearing my robes, but so far I've had no luck. I did notice that Malcom Baddock was wearing Millicent's, though, which I'll leave for you to chew on.

Professor Vector, unfortunately, did not forget to assign the most tedious and loathsome detention assignments for the week, which start this evening.

Monday evening: You will meet in the library, where you will dust all of the bookshelves and replace all the books in order. Take extra care with the shelves in the Restricted Section, as they have not been cleaned in a good many years, and I hesitate to say what sort of substances you may wind up encountering.

Just what I always wanted. A whole evening with Madame Pince. Of course, Goyle had to serve detention with her recently, so I suppose it shouldn't be all that bad. But I'm certainly not going to "encounter" any "substances" from the Restricted Section. I'll be taking precautions for that. And needless to say, if I get any papercuts, I will not be amused.
