I like JHU emails!

Two days ago: I got waitlisted at George Washington. What? Safeties don't waitlist!

...But I also found out I was a winner of the Princeton Race Relations Prize! I get to go to a snazzy awards dinner at Princeton University.

As for Johns Hopkins, best email subject lines ever: Congratulations from Johns Hopkins University! (I wonder what the subject lines for waitlisted and rejected people are, then). I was in the library with Andrea watching Kat-tun videos, and while Andrea was in the bathroom, I checked my email:

Dear Indra,

Congratulations! You have been accepted to Johns Hopkins University as a member of the Class of 2012. Your official acceptance packet is on its way to you now by express mail, but I wanted to be the first to extend my best wishes on such a significant accomplishment.

Once you receive your packet, you'll find it contains lots of important information, including all the details you need to plan a visit to the Homewood campus during the month of April. We're hosting three Spring Welcome Open House programs on April 9, 16, and 24. These events are a great way to get a real feel for what Johns Hopkins life is all about. They feature class visits, tours, panels, and a special student activities and services expo-you can even sign up to stay overnight with a current student in a residence hall.

For more information just for admitted students, visit http://apply.jhu.edu/admitted . While you're online, don't forget to check out Hopkins Interactive at http://apply.jhu.edu/hi , where you can find student profiles, blogs, videos, message boards, and more.

If you applied for financial aid, go to http://www.jhu.edu/finaid/self_service.html to check on your aid status. Please note that aid awards will be released at approximately 7 p.m. EDT on Friday, March 28.

Should you have any questions before your packet arrives, please go to http://apply.jhu.edu/contact/staff.html to find your regional admissions representative.

Congratulations again on a job well done!
