Making the Cards

Nov 13, 2006 23:26

By now, everybody should have gotten the email with their partner's address and wishes. If I forgot someone (I hope not!) please tell me!
.
The confirmation thing worked really well - there's only about 10 people who haven't told me that they're still in. If you are one of those: please send me a short note at potterchristmas@gmx.at.
.
I will give you time until Friday, write another email, and if you don't reply I have to assign your partner to somebody else. Sorry for this, but as I said before, there were too many people who didn't get their cards at the Valentine's exchange, and I want to make sure that all of you are still with me :).

Now, the cards:

International partners: Please try to send your cards around the 1st of December, better to be too early than too late!
.
US cards: I guess around the 10th of December will be early enough.
.
Some people asked me about the postage required. I don't know, but I'm sure the post office does :). If you bring your letter to the post office, they can weigh it and determine how many stamps you have to put on. It's not really expensive, even for international letters (Austria - US for a 100g (3.52oz) letter is 2,25 Euro or 2,40 USD; 50g letters are even cheaper).
.
Please send your cards in an envelope, with the real name of the recipient on the outside. Some people got to college and a letter to "S. Snape, Potions Master" will not reach them.
.
The cards themselves can be handmade or store-bought, they can (but don't have to) include sweets, little presents, long, flower-scented love letters, whatever. Just try to be as imaginative as possible!
.
When you got your card it would be great if you'd scan it in or photograph it and send me the picture. I will put up all cards at this journal (anonymously) for everyone to admire. I think looking at what the others got is almost as fun as getting your own card :).
.
I hope everything is clear - if not: comment! Have fun!
