cliche

"I was raped, but you hugged me and I love you (even if you raped me when we were in school together) and I'm better so let's make love right now! Snookems' Sweetheart and Love!"

yeah okay, that pretty much covers that cliche.

potentially nsfw

Looked at the book, weighed it, went meh and wandered over to Henry Miller. Let's get pretentious and discuss book-size! heee

Ayn Rand's books are good as doorstops and antidotes to insomnia. Other than that, they have no value.

Okay, I just want you to know this plot has been done in fiction which people actually paid to read.

Luke & Laura syndrome much?

(I have known women who were raped or almost raped and I can assure you that the feelings they had for their violators were not warm, fuzzy Twu Wub HEA feelings.)

That being said, I do think that rape can be a valid plot point in a fic when used correctly and some realism portrayed when utilizing it.

That was gross misuse of rape in a plot. *g*

I graduated in 1985, have a husband, three sons and a cat.

I take it you have a son named Charlie? Or you're just a huge Charlie Weasley fan? *g*

Well said; I cannot imagine where these writers get the idea that rape is a likely precursor to twoo wub. I know most of them are probably preteen, but still, I find it worrying.

In the original draft of the script she was a skank with bad teeth and some STD.... but then they cast Julia Roberts.

there's always Lucius/Draco stuff, Draco is the victim in that case, my vote for most victimized goes to Snape
