All Snape's relatives have latin names
Now this a cliché I've done myself. I have a love-hate relationship with it.
In many fics, all of Snape's family is called things like: Gaius, Messalina, Octavia, Tiberius Nero, and Claudius. I've even seen a Caliugla Snape.
Now, on the one hand this can be a fun in-joke if you know some history or if you are a fan of I, Claudius (like me). On the other hand it's bloody annoying when the person just willy-nilly picks out names of dead Romans and slaps them on their OCs. Even the Blacks who are all traditionally named after constellations have one kid that isn't. Besides if Snape's family was in the habit of naming their children after Dead Roman emperors and members of the imperial family... Serious think they wouldn't call the kid Caligula.
