BAKING FOREVER

I BAKED EVERYTHING

TRIPPER IS A COOKIE NOW

JK Tripper is fine and sleeping. I just baked everything else

Okay first things first, I used this recipe. However, I replaced the chocolate chips with Reeses Pieces for the first batch, and M&Ms for the second.

A few notes: I couldn't find regular malted milk powder and used Ovaltine brand chocolate malted milk powder. It seems to be...pretty much the same. IDK, they tasted very good? c:

Also, last time I did these (last weekend) I accidentally halved the butter called for, using only one stick. They still came out tasty, although not how they were supposed to; much less thin and crunchy, more like regular cookies. So you can do that as well if you prefer thicker and chewier cookies!

Now, to start with, this is my workstation! Everything laid out. The oven is directly to the left, and the fridge is to the right and behind me.

Tripper is also right next to the fridge. He finds my BAKING TIEM!!!! expression worrying, apparently.

Happy happy Reeses Pieces batch doughs!

Bake bake! Reeses Pieces batch cookies!

They are super thin and crispy! I baked them on convection double rack for 11 minutes. If you are cooking them yourself - they WILL continue to cook a bit after you take them out, EVEN IF you immediately put them on the cooling racks like I did! Also, note how much they spread!!

Happy little M&M batch dough!

Bake bake cookies!

Colorful cookie.

The yield of two batches! There was also a significant portion eaten by this time.

Then I made ice cream sandwiches with some of them!! I made 12 sandwiches (using 24 cookies). There's an even number of M&M and Reeses Pieces sandwiches. Well, I mean, there was. I ate one. Now there's more M&M sandwiches.

Four sandwiches right after filling:

Then I dipped them in chocolate! And when I had chocolate left over, inelegantly smeared it on top of a few. Here they are chilling in the freezer. (There would be parchment paper under them, but I used it all up baking the cookies! Since I left the tray in the freezer and transported the cookies only to and from the chocolate, the chocolate froze so fast that it doesn't stick to the pan anyways)

And finally, a sandwich shortly before eating!

I definitely recommend this recipe, it is delicious and so easy c: if you've made any kind of sugar cookie, or really any butter-and-sugar based cookie ever, you should be able to handle this just fine. It definitely takes less time than sugar cookies and most other recipes this delicious. You can also put a lot of different things in this cookie. Although I would recommend caution with nuts as the cookie is already very sweet and has a fair bit of taste of its own due to the malt powder; so I think it would easily overpower less sweet add-ins. If you are not a big chocolate/candy/peanut butter fan, perhaps dried fruit? o u o

baking, om nom nom, something about an apron, cookies
