Knox's welcome to the city had been, well, luke-warm. Of course there were the few people that had approached to wish him well, mostly minions. Well, minions and Tucker. To some extent that girl Kara, and Fred.
Again, most of them weren't heartfelt. And the list of people who threatened him seemed to be growing. It was a real list, and no, it wasn't caused by paranoia. Only thing the young scientist was afraid of was Wesley Wyndham-Pryce, and Fred mentioned the firm did something to eliminate the threat of being shot at by the British man. That was some good news.
It was just a lot to take in. And a lot more to digest. Knox had been looking for a distraction. After a while, work just failed to do it. Even the lack of sleep the night-shift granted coupled with mind-numbing work wasn't really...mind-numbing enough. He'd been glad to see a friendly face. Well, so far the face hadn't shown up, but hanging out with Tucker had sounded like a good prospect. It hadn't taken to long to navigate the streets of Downtown Boston, every city seemed the same after you lived in one long enough.
Well, that was a lie. Every city seemed the same to someone that didn't live in one. But the navigation was a different story.
Tucker should be getting off work soon. Perhaps if Knox waited long enough, his thoughts would plow on to his problem with the God-King. Then his mental landscape would get rather unpleasant.
He decided to check his watch to avoid that from happening.
