The above phrase adequately crystalizes my Christ complex, and my prevailing opinion that the reelection of George Bush is on par with murdering the son of god or god's temporal form, depending on your characterization of the Trinity. This is the new paradigm of the new citizen. We've refused to learn from history, we've refused to educate ourselves, and we've refused to listen to anyone. This is why nations have fallen in the past, but it doesn't mean it's the end of everything. It makes me wonder how long the rest of the world will put up with our imperial consumerism, or consumer imperialism, or whatever. Everyone is noticing these feelings now. They're all realizing it for the first time. I'll never forget the day I looked up and noticed that I wasn't secure anymore, and that everyone else in the world was laughing at me for being apart of this. Conservatism always becomes regression, but it's human nature. We were not fortunate enough to realize that never, in the history of the world, has an attempted regression of society been successful. We can't stop it because we don't possess an alternative, and I've come to grips that it is okay. It's like I've accepted my death, on the basis that it will allow someone else to continue living.
