Just got back last night from my weekend at a resort near my cousin's house. And because
_sugarquill said I'd better do so, I'm posting an entry about said weekend.
My mom and I bought her a gift last Friday before going home, and it was a lovely silver neclace with a really pretty pendant. Spent quite some time looking for it, too. My sister was complaining most of the time, and was obviously relieved when I decided that I won't buy Ate Jhoy a giant brithday card from Blue Magic anymore because it's located in the other building. I've got no idea why SM North EDSA has several buildings, when it could have just one giant building just like other malls. Or... it could have a Blue Magic store in its main building so people won't have to go to the other building (or maybe there's one in the main building and I just didn't know??). So I just settled for one of the birthday cards I have stashed here at home (which reminded me how many people's brithdays have passed without me sending them a card, because I really meant to send those cards ages ago, but look, they're still lying untouched somewhere in my room) and found something really funny that I knew she'd love.
So, the next day (Saturday) my mom wrapped the necklace plus a bracelet she bought before, and I wrote Ate Jhoy a really long message on the card.. It was so long that the space on the inside of the cover wasn't enough, so I had to go and write on the space with the funny greeting on it, and it kinda loked messy from all my writings, but I had so much to say, and Ate Jhoy probably wouldn't care as long as she loved to letter, whcih I hope she did.
My dad got home at 4:30 in the afternoon, and we left at around 5. We got to the resort about an hour after sunset, which my dad really hated because he hates driving at night, especially in a place he didn't know very well. Anyway, the point is, we got there on the day (or night) my cousin wanted us to come, which hopefully made her really happy. Seeing as she really insisted and pleaded and begged for us to come, she probably was glad.
We ate dinner and then I went to the kiddie pool to accompany my niece, Jewel, and though the water didn't even reach mid-thigh, it was kinda fun splashing around and wading in the water with the kid, because we had the pool almost to ourselves, except for a couple of other kids who I don't give a damn about. Sometime later we went back to our cottage to get my sister and Ate Marie, and then we went back to the kiddie pool because there were lots of couples making out (er. not really, but almost) in the deeper pool. Besides, my niece isn't allowed in the deep pool, and I don't want to leave her alone in the kiddie pool.
My cousin arrived some time later with her friends, and we went to another pool (one which we were supposed to go to before they arrived, but we got lost), which was a bit shallower than the deep one, so my niece could go swim there without drowning, but she was scared so she just sat at she side while the seven of us (me, my sister, Ate Marie, my cousin and her three friends) played tag in the pool. There were some guys making a human pyramid/tower/whatever in the middle, which kinda blocked the view from one end to the other, which made the game more challenging. Ate Jhoy, my partner (we split into pairs for fun, and so she could get me to join the game) even went as far as dragging me to a group of people swimming near the side of the pool and we kinda pretended to blend in, so the other wouldn't find us. One time my sister was going towards me while Ate Jhoy and I were it and because my sister's got poor eyesight she didn't recognize me until she was about a meter away, so I tagged her easily, lol.
But.. my niece was not having such a great time, just sitting there at the side, so we went back to the kiddie pool to let her have some more fun, and then we went to one of the several videoke-slash-billiard-cottage/kiosk/whatevers in the resort, and we sang until around 2am while Ate Jhoy's boyfriend and his other friend were playing billiards. Ate Jhoy sang most of the time, and even though she could sing about as well as I do (which isn't very good, I tell you) we let her because it's her birthday, and it's not everyday that your'e favorite cousin turns 18, now is it?
My sister, Ate Marie and I went to our room to change and to finally sleep while the others continued singing until around 4am, I think. Finally after much noise and commotion, they went to sleep, and so I finally drifted off too.
less than five hours later, I woke up because of my mom's and my aunt's loud voices, and I couldt go back to sleep, so I just went outside and waited for teh otehrs to wake up. We went sight-seeing a bit and then we ate breakfast at one of the cottages. I went back with my niece to our room because it was really hot outside. I played with my nephew John Lloyd (Jewels' two-year-old bro) a bit and watched TV, until the others went back to the room to pack their stuff because we had to check out at noon. John Lloyd provided some entertainment for the guys, and it was really funny. It's kinda weird, because I think my nephew might just turn out to be gay, which would totally make his dad mad.. But I'm fine with however the kid turns out. But he's gonna break a lot of girls' hearts, because's he's a really handsome kid. Lol.
There's was a bit of drama towards the end, because Ate Jhoy wanted to stay a bit longer but her mom won't let her.. Damnit, it's the girl's birthday!! Just let her stay a bit more with her friends if she wants to!! In the end she did stay, while the rest of us went to their house, and we ate some halo-halo and chatted and watched TV, and then we left at 4.
And then I got home and went to sleep early. The end.

In other news, it's my best friend's birthday tomorrow, and we're going out. Yay!
