They just announced this year's "nominees" for the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame".
Metallica, Run DMC, The Stooges, Chic, Jeff Beck, Wanda Jackson, Little Anthony and the Imperials, War & Bobby Womack. Of which, five will make it in.
Are you kidding me?
Of that list, there are two no-brainers. Metallica & Run DMC. Easy. No question. Done deal. Bout time. Bring'em on. (How funny Metallica was ACTUALLY elligible last year, but has an album coming out now... Hmmm. That seems to happen A LOT...)
The rest of the list?
Except maybe Chic (because of Nile Rogers) and Jeff Beck (being perhaps the greatest guitar talent in rock history) and the Stooges (because they like the edgy bands), uhhh, NO.
And might I add the following list of people I would nominate WAY the fuck before War or Bobby Womack. (Not to slight them at all, BTW.)
