It hadn't occurred to me that the moment of the curse-breaking would be an anxious one for Bootstrap, 'cause he'd assume it meant Will was in trouble. But yes, that is a feasible scenario.

One hopes he soon had his anxiety alleviated, when his ship encountered the executed 'Black Pearl' crewmembers who could tell him Will was all right.

I rather think that Bill didn't know Will survived until Jack told him. Possibly.
