I had the privilege of visiting the HMS Victory today, which is apparently very similar to the Endeavor. I thought someone might be interested in this photo that I took.

Compared to the slings and hammocks, that would have been high living. Free enough to move with the ship, and yet firm enough so that you didn't get squished.

The flora isn't surprising. Look at what men wore back then!

I can't see Barbossa in such a floral hammock! ;)

I posted this below, but the hangings were embroidered to make the fact that they were sleeping in their own coffin less depressing.

MY first thought was: How would Jack Sparrow squeeze Elizabeth, AnaMaria, Giselle, Scarlett, Norry, Will, Beckett, Bootstrap, and all his over-sexed OC's in there? Did I miss anyone? ;) Oh... maybe the goat as well!

Heh, I'm always casting shifty fannish eyes at the sleeping quarters on tallships. I'm convinced I found Horatio Hornblower's lieutenant bunk on the Constellation.

Wow! That actually looks rather comfortable. More like a cradle. Very cool, thanks for sharing!
