Photo discussion week #39

Dec 03, 2007 01:34

With AWE coming out on DVD in just hours, practically - for the U.S., that is - let's go back almost four-and-a-half years and share our thoughts of the first time we ever saw CotBP. I've actually picked two photos for this week.

What a long, strange journey it's been ... )

It annoys me that she automatically assumes he's a pirate- then steals his necklace!
And- best movie entrance EVER!!

I totally agree with the last point.

Thanke. It is indeed a very agreeable point.
And might I say your avatar is quite idiosyncratic.

I can't believe I'm going to do this, but, I have to give Liz some support in this situation. She really doesn't have a lot to go on, it being her first few seconds in Will's company. And she has just been given reason to believe that anyone even suspected of piracy might be hung. So, upon seeing that piece of aztec gold (decorated with a very human looking skull, as are most pirate symbols) she immediately acted to protect him.

It's too cute! :-p

Yes, that's very much the best entrance for a character in a movie (or series) ever. But what really made it for me was the tail end of it - his landing at the dock. lol.

One would expect a resonable person to hand back an item that isn't theirs, no?

Reason's got nothing to do with it.

I love the opening of the movie. Elizabeth instinctively protecting Will by taking the medallion was just wonderful. Who knows what might have happened to Will if Norrington had seen the pirate's gold?

Loved Jack's entrance!

1) I absolutely LOVED Norrington in this scene... the "short drop and a sudden stop" line is one of my favorites. :p

2) BEST. ENTRANCE. EVAR.

... 'nuff said.

The top picture stings a little because it's just teasing me that they're gonna develop Norrington's character, but then they jump those eight years to when he's stumbling over his own feet because of Elizabeth...

That's a pretty good gag with Jack's entrance, very nice.
