Jack did not really hate the other being who shared his name. He'd be just as happy to leave the man alone and let him go his own way rather than sneering, laughing at, and attacking him. The human might be funny when he fell on his butt, but he tasted disgusting when he bit him. He'd leave him alone except that it made his Captain smile when he chased him across the ship. It was his way of earning his keep, and it was nice to see the old man smile. The monkey chattered and went after Jack again.
