Jack still has nightmares about being dragged around the ships his father had called home when he'd been a child by his hair. His hair had been long even then, ridiculous for a child, the older Pirates had laughed. They had ridiculed him for that and for everything else about him or that he said or did. He had been unable to do anything right.

It was in those early moments that Jack swore to become a Captain and commander not just his own ship but his life as well. He had hated taking orders from any one and always stood up against any one who tried to control him, even if it meant risking his life or worse fates. Now, at last, he's made the right decisions. He is a Captain, and not just any Captain but a Captain who is both feared and respected throughout the seven seas and on land as well.

He has become his own man. Yet, now that he need take orders from no one, Jack finds that he no longer minds taking orders quite so much. At least, not when they come from one incredibly handsome man who's sensually nibbling his ear lobe. The heat between them is pulsating throughout not just every inch of Jack's body but his heart and soul, too, and so when Will whispers, "Strip," he follows his orders more gladly and quickly than he's ever obeyed any one else in his life.

The Captain, he has come to realize and accept, has his own Captain still. They may be the Captains of their own fates, but Will is the Captain of Jack's heart and the rugged Pirate Captain would gladly follow the former blacksmith anywhere to the ends of the Earth and beyond, as Will already has him.
