Jack's body was still sorely hurting from the punishments he'd endured over the last several weeks and his neck was still tight from how close he'd come to swinging, but his soul sang as he at last set foot on his beloved Pearl again. He inhaled the sweet, sea air and grinned, his gold tooth winking in the bright sun. He was home.
Gunshots fired, and Jack hurried to the wheel. He grasped it and called commands to his men, who were already getting her ready to sail. They left the dock, and Jack looked to the man responsible for giving his freedom back to him. The Pearl was his freedom, but Will was his love. He had them both. He had his family again, and nothing would stop them now!
"Bring me that horizon," Jack commanded, smiling at his beloved Will, who returned his smile before hurrying to the cannons. Jack reflected on how he'd thank his love later that night, but then a blow from shore rocked the Pearl. Jack's steely eyes locked onto their foes as they fired back. They would have that horizon, Jack thought, determined to keep all his treasures. They would have everything together!
