Summary: Choutarou and Yuushi plot for Shishido's upcoming birthday.
Slipping a little bit on the sand, Choutaoru made his way across the beach. He wasn’t quite sure what to expect from his...consultation with Yuushi - but he did want to do something to make Shishido’s birthday memorable, despite their current castaway status, and a bit of relationship help wouldn’t go amiss, either. A proper relationship was an awful lot different from a half hour of kissing before lights out, and quite frankly Choutarou didn’t really know what he was doing. And Shishido was too important for him to let this mess up.
Collapsing onto the ground next to Yuushi and a large, vaguely circle-shaped pile of sand, Choutarou brushed his hair out of his eyes and smiled shyly at the blue-haired tensai. “Good afternoon, Oshitari-sempai. Thank you again for helping me with this....”
“Please, Ohtori-kun- As I said I am happy to help.” The tensai smiled out from underneath the wide brim of his sunhat at his kohai. “Now did you have anything in mind you would like to do for Ryou on his special day?” If anybody made a big deal out of birthdays it was definitely Yuushi. He loved celebrating them almost more than any other even or public holiday - except maybe Valentine’s Day. “I hope you won’t be offended if I am somewhat indiscreet concerning your private life but it helps if I know what you have already done and what you enjoyed and what you didn’t feel as comfortable with.”
Right. Talking. He’d never been especially comfortable discussing this sort of thing, generally whenever locker room talk had turned to...conquests, he had gotten out as fast as he could. Choutarou swallowed and dropped his eyes to his lap. “I...just one. Before - on our last date we, um, went skinny dipping. I was...shy, a bit and - I didn’t let Shishido watch me. Until I was in the water. So, I thought maybe this time...” Trailing off, he shrugged, blushing. Surely his sempai could put two and two together.
“Ah.” Making an understanding noise Yuushi nodded and reached over to give Ohtori’s knee a comforting pat. “Would you feel comfortable with doing that Ohtori-kun? Letting him watch you?” He smiled faintly, amused at how precious and shy the tall violinist could be, it was adorable really.
Choutarou bit his lip. “I think so.” Unbidden, an image of Shishido sprung up, eyes hungry and wanting and just a little bit surprised, the way they always were when Choutarou did something he wasn’t expecting but really, really wanted. The way he’d looked the last time he’d gotten to see Yuushi and Choutarou kiss. A thought nudged at him, then, but Choutarou was too focused on the realization that he liked it when Shishido looked at him like that, and that a bit of embarrassment would be well worth it for what the act would mean to Shishido. “Yes. Yes, I’ll be fine.”
Watching the understanding dawn on Ohtori’s face Yuushi leaned back and smiled. Ryou really was a lucky guy. “Very good. Then we move on to the next step - the setting. What do you think about taking him skinny dipping again?” It may not be original but original had the tendency to blow up in your face at exactly the wrong moment.
Choutarou considered it, and then shook his head. He wouldn’t mind going skinny dipping again, but he did want Shishido’s birthday to be special, not something they’d done before. “I don’t think so.” Unfortunately, there wasn’t exactly a plethora of options - few places on the island were secluded, would have light when night fell, and were comfortable. “Perhaps I’ll just stick to the cave, it should be easy enough to tell everyone to keep out for an afternoon...or maybe evening.”
Well it would certainly make and wet and cold walks back to the cave redundant and Yuushi could see how that would be a good thing, especially with the way Hiyoshi seemed to be a little sniffely lately. He really didn’t need to make all of his teammates fall sick in one month. “Well then, maybe we could spend some time decorating the cave beforehand.” A few flowers maybe, mood lighting, fresh sheets - oh yes, he could already see it.
“Maybe,” Choutarou said absentmindedly. He had the feeling he was overlooking something, but he wasn’t quite sure what - it would come to him eventually if he just sat quietly...Then he realized what his sempai had been saying and all thought of missing ideas was abandoned to look at the other boy in abject horror. “...Oshitari-sempai, define ‘decorating’.”
“Oh, just a few flowers here, maybe some candles to set the mood...the right music of course.” Yuushi was on a roll, his eyes gleaming as he envisioned the transformation of the cave from a haven of testosterone into a more romantic and sensual oasis. “Fresh sheets of course...” The ideas were just bubbling up in his head now and he trailed off to consider them in devoted silence.
Choutarou paled. “Oshitari-sempai, no -” He broke off and shook his head furiously. He had to nip this in the bud or Yuushi would get his mind set on it and then he’d never be able to convince the other boy to let it go. “Fresh sheets, alright, they probably need changing anyway, and we could stand to pick up a little, but the rest of it - no.”
“Hm?” Yuushi blinked, stirred from his daydream of rose petals and scented wind-lights in different colours. “No?” His face fell for a moment.
“No,” Choutarou reiterated firmly, feeling oddly as though he were speaking to a puppy that was trying to misbehave. “Definitely not.”
Sighing in resigned disappointment Yuushi nodded. “Just fresh sheets and a bit of clean up then?” Maybe he could sneak a few candles in behind Ohtori’s back.
Choutarou sighed as well, out of relief. “Thank you, sempai.” Now, back to the matter at hand. They would clean up the cave, Choutarou would call Shishido in, strip (he felt a blush start to rise on his cheeks again and stubbornly ignored it)....and then what? “Do you think.... it will be enough?” he asked hesitantly.
“Well...” For a moment Yuushi deliberated over his reply. “You can’t expect a healthy young man like Ryou not to get excited about seeing you undress.” The question now was what path to proceed down and it all depended on how far Ohtori wanted to take it. “I imagine he would very much like to touch you...?” He shoot the younger man a look to gauge his reaction to the idea.
Choutarou laughed softly. “Well, yes - that was rather a given,” he said wryly. “I meant... you know, is it enough that it’s just me - like on all our dates.” Not that Shishido minded their dates, or at least Choutarou didn’t think he did - it just seemed a bit...ordinary. But what else could he add to it? Shishido liked video games (he wasn’t particularly good at those, and anyways Shishido had other people to play them with), tennis (but there wasn’t a solid enough doubles pair to challenge them, unless he really wanted to go talk to Rikkai and that could get rather dicey), and Choutarou.
And him and Yuushi kissing. Choutarou blinked, and turned bright red. Hiyoshi was right, they were corrupting him - he couldn’t believe he was even considering it, no matter how good a kisser Yuushi was. But the idea wouldn’t go away - him and Shishido, together - kissing, maybe - and Yuushi coming in, coming up behind Shishido and pulling Choutarou away for a kiss of his own....Choutarou groaned and buried his head in his hands.
Not being privy to Ohtori’s inner monologue Yuushi was quite surprised when the younger man suddenly turned bright red and hid his face against his hands. “Ohtori-kun?” He raised an eyebrow and gave the obviously embarrassed huddle of a man a curious look. “Did you think of something you would like to do?” He smirked faintly, amused by how the very idea of being intimate seemed to still be able to mortify his kohai.
“You could put it that way, sempai,” came the reply, slightly muffled from his current position. Damn his imagination. Damn it, damn it, damn it but he liked the idea in a way that couldn’t possibly be appropriate and it would make Shishido’s year, he just knew it. Taking a deep breath, Choutarou sat back up, fixing his gaze on the ocean. “Sempai -” he began, “I wonder if - since Shishido has expressed...interest, several times in - and I don’t...mind, really, though I know it’s a bit strange - if you might be...willing to...assist in this for...well, for more than just brainstorming,” Choutarou finished in a rush, fairly certain his cheeks were going to catch fire.
Waiting for the stuttering explanation to end Yuushi’s eyebrow crept up further and further as he listened. “Ohtori-kun, are you asking me if I would be willing to join you and Ryou for the night of his birthday?” He summed it up neatly, taking the idea and running with it.
“...Yes,” Choutarou managed finally, after a few moments of silence. “For part of it, anyway - I...I think I’d like some time with him...alone. At first.” Screwing up his courage, he chanced a glance at his sempai. “...if that’s alright?”
“Of course Ohtori-kun.” Giving his kohai a reassuring smile Yuushi nodded. “Just let me know what you would like me to do and I’ll be happy to do it.”
