You go by the ounces!

Maeg and I spent the night with Finn on Friday after a relaxing dinner at PF Chang's where we dined on lettuce wraps, crispy crab wontons, chicken dishes galore, and adult beverages in celebration of my bonus.

Afterwards we holed ourselves up in Finn's bedroom and engrossed ourselves in a two-hour sing-a-long. From Whitney Houston to Bob Dylan -- our bases were covered. Maeg and I snuggled up in Finn's cushy bed and fell asleep while Finn tapped away on her keyboard and finished the night up with some Simon and Garfunkle.

It was all very low-key. And enjoyable.

Becky was supposed to pick me up yesterday, but instead, the whole family came down for a trip to The Container Store in Chestnut Hill. I purchased $50 worth of goodies for the madre for her birthday. Becky and I gave her cards with IOUs that included a weekend of organizing the basement and $50 worth of storage items. As a twenty-four year old individual, you're never too old to give your mother coupons in her birthday card!

My parents treated us to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Mmm. Crusted Chicken Romano.

We made it back to Methuen at 4pm. Becky and I went to Best Buy to purchase a laptop for her future grad school embarkment. She originally wanted a Mac, but Salem is the only Best Buy in the area not selling Appley-type computers yet. Instead, she bought a Sony Vaio. In red. And it's glorious.

Maeg and I have been talking about buying my mother a laptop for sometime now. She gave me the go ahead before heading up here for the night. So I bought her a sweet little Toshiba Satellite with 2BG of RAM and a dual processor. It's a nice little basic model for the Mom-Shaped-One. It took me two hours to strip off unnecessary software, update McAfee with a full subscription (thanks to Becky) and a full version of Office (thanks to Becky). She was laying on the couch when I set it in front of her with her password protected 'Mom' account.

She about shit her pants.

And spent the rest of the evening playing Mahjong.

It felt good.

Oh Sunday, how quickly you have arrived.

the fam, becky
