[RL WITH ITALY]

Nov 18, 2010 21:55

Ludwig walked up the path through the garden to the house that he shared with his wife, a bit apprehensive of what might be waiting him while he got inside. Feliciana had told him that she had something she wanted to talk to him about after he got home from work, and he really wasn't sure what to make of that. Sometimes the things she wanted to ( Read more... )

When Feliciana heard the door open, her heart leapt. She was always happy to see Ludwig return home, but she was especially so today. All day long, she'd been waiting to talk to him, her stomach filling with butterflies thinking about it.

She practically skipped into the room, still wearing an apron from cooking in the kitchen. "You're home!" she squealed happily, catching Ludwig in a hug.

Ludwig leaned down and enveloped her in a hug, happy with the way she just seemed to fit into his arms. "Yes, I'm home," he said quietly, smiling into her hair before tilting her head backwards with a gentle hand on her jaw and leaning down to give her a kiss in greeting. "It's good to be back," he said, smiling down at her.

Feliciana kissed him back happily, beaming up at him. "Veh, I'm glad!" she said. "And I'm glad you're home, I miss you when you're away."

Enjoying the warm embrace, she snuggled a little further into his hug before asking, "How was your day?"

"I miss you when I'm away too," he said softly, shifting his head to rest in her hair, breathing in the soft, gentle smell of her shampoo. He didn't mind in the least extending his embrace with her. It'd been a long day at work, after all.

"You know how my boss is," he said. "He's a tyrant. Had me doing his dirty work all day, and like I said, even kept me late, when all I wanted was to be able to come back here to you. You said you had something to talk to me about, after all."

"At least you're back now, so you're home and you can relax," Feliciana said. "And I do want to talk to you, but I also am making a yummy dinner!" She pulled back, her arms still around Ludwig so she could look at him, smiling warmly. "So which would Ludwig like first: dinner or talking? Or we can talk while we eat!"

He reached a hand out to run through her hair, smiling down at her. "Whatever you like, Schatzi. If you think that we can eat and talk at the same time, then we can do that." It must not be anything bad if this was the greeting he got when he got home, after all. He was curious as to what it could possibly be, though.

"Then that's what we will do!" she chirped, standing on her tiptoes to lean up and plant a quick kiss on Ludwig's lips. She took one of her hands in his, leading him towards the kitchen. "It'll be ready in just a minute, so you can sit at the table now if you want."

Ludwig nodded, resisting the urge to try and help her, or start to do the washing up already, because he knew that she hated when he started cleaning up before they even ate. He did pause, though, before sitting down. "Would you like me to get us drinks, then?" he asked. "While you finish with the food? What'd you like to have with dinner?"

"That would be very nice!" she said happily, thinking. "There's a nice bottle of red wine in the left cupboard that would go nice with the food, so we can have that!" Besides, if all went according to plan, it might be the last chance she'd have to drink wine for a several months.

Ludwig nodded and went to the cupboard to get the wine glasses out, before finding the wine bottle and uncorking it. It was always nice to relax with a nice bottle of wine, and somehow Feliciana always had one that went with every sort of meal she made. It was a talent, and he once again counted himself blessed to've ever stumbled across this woman.

Pouring the wine, he brought the two glasses over to the table, leaving the bottle over on the counter so that it would be there when they wanted refills, but not be in the way of the main course. "It smells good," he commented, lightly, on the food. Then again, it always did, but. He figured a little repeated complimenting never killed anyone.

She smiled brightly at the compliment. "Aw, grazie! Ludwig says such very nice things," she said as she brought over two large bowls of shrimp marinara, the food still steaming from the pot. She put one in front of each other places, taking off her apron. "It should still be hot, but it's all ready once it cools down!" she chirped before taking her seat.

Ludwig nodded, absently stirring the contents of his bowl with his fork to help them cool, before picking up his wine glass and taking a sip, and relaxing into the setting. It was nice, to be home. He loved it there. He loved his home, and his wife, and his life with her, and he couldn't imagine anything better than what they had right there. Placing his wine glass down on the table, he smiled across at her, really, truly happy.

Feliciana waited a few minutes before talking, eating her food happily. She wanted to give Ludwig a few minutes to relax and enjoy his food before she said anything, especially since she didn't know how he'd react yet.

After draining her first glass of wine, she asked, "Is it okay if we talk now while we eat? I really do want to talk with Ludwig about something."

He paused in his eating, nodding and taking a drink of wine from his now half-empty glass, before nodding at her. "Yes, of course we can. You said that there was something to talk about? It sounds important, whatever it is." And it did, for her to mention it so many times already. He was getting more and more curious as to what it might be, this secret topic of hers.

Feliciana nodded, smiling a tiny bit. Because it was important, but it was a good important, not a sad important. "I was thinking," she said, sitting up straight, because this was a big deal and she needed to act serious about it. "Ludwig knows I love him very much, si? Because I do. Ludwig makes me so happy and I just want to be with him forever and ever and sometimes I want to never let him go even though he has to go to work or pick up groceries. And being married is the bestest thing that's ever happened, si?"

Germany nodded, smiling at his wife but looking at her a bit oddly. "Yes, I know. And I love you too. And I don't like to leave you alone all the time either. But... Feliciana, what's this all about?" He realized that there was very little he could do about leaving her at home alone. He had to work, his job was important, and he couldn't spend all of his time with her no matter how much he wanted to do so. Surely she understood that, didn't she?
