[RL WITH ITALY]

Apr 04, 2010 08:58

Germany came up the path to Italy's front door at an average pace, dressed casually for once, not in his uniform, but in cream slacks and a white shirt. This was Easter, after all, and he was allowed to be casual and festive for it. His hair was still slicked back in its usual fashion, though. There probably wasn't anyone that could get him to ( Read more... )

Italy actually was all ready to go. Normally he'd have slept in as late as humanly possible, but today was ~Easter~, and even better, it was Easter with Germany! So he was already dressed, wearing dress pants and a stylish blue dress shirt.

When he heard the knock, he went skipping to do the door, big smile on his face. "HAPPY EASTER, GERMANY!" he cheered once he had swung open the door.

Germany smiled at Italy's enthusiasm. It was good to see that he was up, ready, and excited for the day to follow. "Happy Easter to you too, Italy," he returned, although not in quite as lively a fashion as Italy.

He held out the bag of wurst. "Here," he said. "These are for later, when we start on the cooking." As gifts go, wurst was a bit odd for Easter, but he figured the food would be good and enjoyable, at any rate, and that was really all that mattered.

"Thank you, Germany!" he chirped, taking the bag of wurst from him. "After we watch the fireworks, we can try making them and the pasta and trying to see if we can make them yummy together." He leaned over to peck Germany on the lips, smiling brightly.

Germany blushed furiously at the peck on the lips. He still wasn't very used to this whole relationship thing. What was he supposed to do in response to that, then? "U-uhm, you're welcome," he said, trying and obviously not succeeding in hiding his flustering. "H-hopefully they will go well together..."

"I hope they do too!" Italy said. "Let me go put the wurst in the kitchen and then we can go walk to the church, veh?"

Germany nodded, shuffling in his spot. Truthfully, he'd known Italy for a long time, but this was really the first time he'd been invited along to go to a tradtional Italian festival. He wasn't exactly sure what to expect from it, but as long as Italy was there with him, he wasn't in danger of making too much of a fool of himself.

Italy hummed a church hymn as he ducked into the house to put the wurst in his refrigerator. He'd been good to his word and gotten some very good pasta for later, as well as ingredients for a delicious sauce.

When he returned, he was still smiling. "This way!" he chirped, leading the way.

Germany followed after Italy, not really struggling to keep up, but more falling a bit behind him because that made it easier to think. First, the situation at hand. He was going to church with Italy. It would be a catholic service. Germany hadn't been to a catholic service in a long time, and he'd never been to one here. He wasn't sure what to expect. Worse still, with all this worrying about the right wurst and how to react and Italy and the likes, he hadn't thought to read up on it all either. He was worried that he might do something embarrassing--could he count on Italy to help him out on these things, or was he going to stand there looking silly in front of a whole congregation of people to stare at him?

"This is going to be so nice, Germany!" Italy said happily; he was tempted to hold Germany's hand, but he wasn't sure that would go so well with a crowd that was on its way to church. He would simply have to wait until they were back at the church. "The parade and the church are so pretty, and the fireworks are lots of fun!"

"Well, I should think they are, from the way you went on about them in your comments," Germany said. He blushed, expecting Italy to do just that, grab his hand and drag him along out of excitement, but he didn't. Perhaps it was the nature of the holiday, or the crowd, or something else, but Germany didn't really know. His hand twitched as if it expected Italy to grab it nonetheless, so he stuffed them in his pockets, strolling along behind him. "So, what are we doing first, then?"

"We're going to the piazza to watch the procession!" Italy replied. "There's gonna be lots of people all dressed up to bring the cart to the church, and then when they get there it's time to go in for the Mass. I bet you'll be able to see it really well 'cuz you're so tall."

Germany nodded. He probably would be able to see well. He hadn't really ever run into a situation where he was too short for anything, not in a very long time. "I don't want to block anyone's view," he said, trying to be polite. He was a visitor to this procession and dressed up firework crazyness. He didn't want to ruin anyone else's experience of the day.

"Italy, do you think I'm too tall?" he asked, out of the blue.

Italy frowned, not sure where that had come from. "Veh, no," he said, looking at Germany. "Germany is not too tall. He is much taller than Italy but not so tall that it's bad."

Germany nodded, a bit puzzled as to why he was even asking, but a thought struck him. "It's just that sometimes you seem distressed that I am taller than you, and..." He trailed off. "I just wondered," he said, finally, a blush steadily spreading across his face.

"Vehh, it makes it hard to kiss you and hug you without you leaning over to help," Italy said, thinking and glancing skyward while they walked. "But it's not so bad. Because now you hug and kiss me back so it's easier!"

Germany blushed at that statement. He didn't really not do any of it back before, did he? Well. Maybe not all the time, but it wasn't like he was completely standoff-ish. At least, he didn't think that he was. He watched Italy for a few moments, judging his reaction. Other people have made fun of him for it, being too tall, being muscular, but Italy didn't seem to mind. In fact, he even complimented the fitness part, every once and a while.

"So. You don't mind it, then. The way I am." He only realized afterward that that was much more of a loaded question than he'd intended it to be.
