banging rocks together

Jun 03, 2004 14:18

the other day i was sitting on the shore of a lake, banging rocks together. i was trying to make an arrowhead. i could get close, but never actually produced a reasonably decent one.

so it occurred to me while i was doing this, that even armed with the knowledge of what an arrow is, and what an arrowhead should look like, and how a bow and arrow work, and a thorough understanding of physics and mechanics, and even a pretty good education in geology and mineralogy to understand what kind of rocks to look for and how to break them up, i would still starve to death before successfully fabricating these primitive tools.
