It must be instinctual, or maybe even ritualistic, but I always feel a stunned or curious expression across my face when my hearing kicks out, followed by that need to rub my ear as though it had water in it. It doesn't last long and it's usually one ear at a time, but that's never comforting.

I've been sick recently, apparently without an obvious reason, and was prescribed a general antibiotic as a first measure. That doctor said if that didn't work, to see a regular doctor. He meant one that can tie all my ailments together over a longer time line, which is reasonable because I don't have a primary physician, but it was just funny to hear him say it like that. More than likely I will have several doctors: weird sickness, hearing loss, diabetes, mobile white spots in my daytime vision, fractured sleeping habits, psyche concerns. Whether I'll actually heed any of their advice will probably depend on how inconvenient it seems, but I think I've done as well as I can without professional involvement, so I'll try to remember that I sought them out & not vice versa.

Regarding the sleep situation, I've felt a quiet gratefulness for my quasi-cold because I've managed to get eight hours of sleep while under its influence. That's probably why I waited so long to see a doctor.

An orange tree grows from seeds
Orange leaf tea leaves seeds in me
It's strange that I see a sapling tree
When closed eyes seep through groves in leaps.
